The tour was very interesting and guide Andrea was very informative and knowledgeable. The only downside was that due to low numbers the coach was cancelled and we were transported to Hotel Atlantica Bay to join tour which was okay, however we had to make our own way back to our hotel Atlantica Oasis. I feel we should have had transport organised to take us back.

After reading other reviews I nearly did not bother going but I am so glad I did. The tour was very interesting and informative. I was collected at Atlantica Bay hotel and we did stop for half an hour after just 20 minutes because those collected from Pathos had been on the bus for 2 hours. Salamis was very interesting. Then on to Farmagusta Old Town, again interesting and we were given 90 minutes free time for a walk round and lunch which was plenty of time. Varosha was the best bit.

We enjoyed the trip, but there are caveats. 1. The ticket clearly said it was an 8 hour tour- but it took 12 hours. 2. There was a lot of walking in high heat, often on uneven ground. We anticipated this but i feel it could be pointed out to older clients (like us) who could find it just too much. We spent the last sighteeing opportunity on the bus as it was too hot for us to walk into the abandoned city. We felt ill, and the bus driver turned of the air con for part of the time.

We stopped for drinks and a break soon after last pick up for 35 mins, then stopped for lemonade for another hour and finally in Famagusta we had two hours to kill where 30mins would have been more then enough. We then spent a mere 40 mins in the ghost town although it was the main reason for going on the trip. We spent 12 hours out on the road and was very, very disappointed and extremely tired. A total waste of money and also a waste of a days holiday.

We found the visit to Salamis too long, it was very hot and we stood around for AGES in the blazing sun, most people on the coach felt the same. Famagusta town we had nearly 2 hrs to look round and get lunch, not much to see and too hot to walk around. Varosha was so very interesting also very sad. Most people on the coach only wanted to go there but had to do the whole trip to go there like us. It was a 12 hr day 6 on a coach 6 walking in the blazing sun was just too much.

It was nice to see the history and sites of the Island, however, our guide who was very knowledgeable took too long at the sites going over the same things which meant there was very little free time to look around at leisure and some sites had to be skipped quickly because the trip ended up running late. Making people stand in the sun at 36 degrees was not ideal.

The Guide(Chris) was excellent, gave a good history of Cyprus and key points of interest Salamis and Famagusta. The coach driver (Andreas) excellent, safe and reliable. Due to multiple pick-ups in Paphos and Limassol, it was a 12hr day- 6hrs of which were travelling, which was far too much. The sites of interest were visited in the heat of the day, which was challenging. The sites visited were interesting, but more time needed. In short- less pick-ups and more time at the sites needed.

Time at Salamis was too long. Guide was very knowledgeable, however as a tourist and not a historian we found there was too much information. No need to give the complete history of Cyprus . Famagusta was a lovely place for lunch. Ghost town , we had enough time to see what was needed to get the idea of what happened 51 years ago. Very interesting

It was a 12 hour trip, a bit tiring, we knew it would be long, way over the 8 hrs advertised. Guide very knowledgeable but went on in too much detail over historical dates, could have truncated it. North Cyprus guide didn't really exist, probably a political sop. Salamis brilliant, not enough time. We're dumped in Famagusta old town for 2hrs and n guide, not good on a backing hot day. Coastal deserted Famagusta was eye opening and a star event. But overall good value

Could have done with more time in Salamis, sea wall and mosque, the castle was shut. The ghost town was the ghost town. The pickup from hotel was a little disjointed- 1 to take us to another hotel to then change to another coach, and the way back was a little disjointed..

The person who sold this gave a glowing report, but the travelling was the worst part of this experience. Most of the day was spent travelling to destinations that were disappointing. We were given time to explore the docks area of Famagusta, not the best introduction to any city. However, the worst part was the travelling.

The whole trip was absolutely brilliant, crucial even, to better understanding the islands current situation. Our guide Andre was outstanding. Even though she kept her political views to herself, It was so important to hear her personal experiences of the evacuation. Her historical knowledge of Cyprus in general was amazing too. Such an interesting experience, would highly recommend. Nice coaches & coach drivers are excellent too.

The guide, Nick, was friendly and showed us everything, including where to go in the old city of Famagusta. It was a unique experience to have a guided bus tour of ancient Salamis and Famagusta. The trip to Varosha was depressing and unnecessary. I hope Tui will continue to offer such guided tours to North Cyprus - why are they stopping on 1 September 2024?

The time spent on the Ghost town was definitely not long enough. 45mins when that is the reason people pay to go to that attraction. To say tui are not doing the trip is very sad. It should of been a few hours there was so much that we missed it was disappointing. I wouldn't of wasted my money for 45mins. Would not recommend it

Gids Antri vertelde zeer enthousiast over geschiedenis van Cyprus, de verdeling van noord en zuid, wat dit gedaan heeft met het verjaagd deel van de bevolking. Wandelingen erg interessant en heel erg warm/heet met weinig schaduw. Zelf voldoende water mee brengen en goede schoenen is geadviseerd, petje of paraplu voor schaduw Lange busreis heen, met stops voor bezichtigingen, lange busreis terug met 1 toiletstop. Zou 8 uur duren, 12 uur weggeweest. Spookstad is erg indrukwekkend om door te lopen.

Excellent tour guide, he had such a wealth of knowledge about Cyprus. The whole tour was full of history, culture and gave us a greater understanding of how Cyprus came to be divided and kept us interested all day. Longer in Varosha would have been welcomed and the coffee stop on the way home was not needed but overall a fabulous, informative day.

Chris (guide) and Marios (driver) were very good. Going through the checkpoints were smooth and Chris was very informative around the history of the island and the current situation. We were able to the the ancient history of the island, medieval history and modern history all in one trip. One thing to note is this is a very long day

There was an accident by elderly gentleman. Which delayed us but that wasn’t a problem. It was we lost our guide to the ghost town . It was only when we came out of there we seen I could have hired a buggy as I was struggling walking and with the heat . The guide would have explained that to us . But unfortunately Chris didn’t . I didn’t see it all my husband went and took lots of photos.

There could be potential issues crossing the border for certain groups of people - we were not advised of this BEFORE paying for the trip, in the end this didn't affect us but nonetheless we should have been warned in advance. The trip itself was well organised, ran smoothly throughout the day, the guide and driver were both excellent. Unable to sit all 4 of us together on the coach as it was full, bit of a shame. Overall I think it was quite an expensive trip but glad we had the experience.

Difficult to leave a true review as we weren’t picked up for our paid excursion to famagusta and vroshi ghost town. We waited outside our hotel and went back inside to double check details with rep. She then called someone who advised her that they had changed our pick up location and nobody had told us. Unsure why this happened and no reason given. We asked if we could get a taxi ( our cost) to get to first site Salamis approx 50 minutes away. The rep called again to enquire and was told no.

En virkelig fin tur med mange spændende historiske oplevelser. Guiden var virkelig god og fortalte hele Cyperns historie undervejs. Der var opmærksomhed omkring varmen her i juli, så der var pauser i skygge eller i AC i bussen. Både Salamis, Famagusta og Varosha var meget spændende og Varosha særligt tankevækkende. Moderne og flot bus med AC. Dygtig og venlig chauffør. Guiden out standing. Absolut vores bedste anbefalinger og good value for money.

The guide was very informative giving a real background to the 1974 invasion. The ghost town walk was a highlight in what was a very enjoyable day. The only issue was the duration which was significantly longer than the 8 hours advertised. We didn't mind the longer trip, but feel that it should be correctly advertised

The 2 hours in Salamis walled city is too long. There is little choice for lunch and during July and August it is unbearably hot. I used to look at Verosha from the various lookout points on previous visits to Cyprus so it was good to be allowed in. It does have a bit of a Disney feel with the brand new roads but you can still see what nature has done to reclaim this area if you look up the streets off the main roads.

Would have preferred a little less time in Famagusta and more time at Varosha. This seems to be the view of most people who have been on the trip. Would ask that this is reviewed and amended as may put people off booking in the future. The other thing to mention is we were picked up at 08.10 and dropped back at 18.50 far longer than the eight hours it said tour was for!

Me and my partner enjoyed a great trip but I think there should be more time spent in Varosha ghost town instead of the other 2 locations. Also, it was advertised as 8 hours long but it was nearly 11 hours from being picked up to being dropped back at the hotel in Paphos. TIP: Make sure to turn off mobile data before entering Turkish territory as you are joined to a Turkish mobile network and roaming fees may apply.

Very good tour and guide but sometimes the guide spoke a little to fast and due to his accent it could be difficult to understand at times .( still a good giude though, i say this only as genuine helpful feedback) Bus should have a toilet on board because it is a long journey despite stops

Our guide Chris was amazing - very knowledgeable and funny. Ruins were interesting as was the ghost town. My issue is the same as many others - timings!!! TUI please start listening to these reviews. We didnt need 2 hours in Famagusta! Found ourselves hanging around for an hour once we had had lunch and had a wander around. Not enough time at varosha which let's face it most people want to see. Needed double the time really. TUi change your timings please then I would give 10 /10

Tour was far to long 12hrs , could have done without 2 hours in Salamis as nothing of interest there, Ghost town was interesting as was the ruins, Tour guide was quite annoying and her English was very poor, however the young Turkish girl who we picked up at the border control was very good and informative.

The day we went our excursion representative 6 th may our rep was Andri . Such a competent rep i have never met. She was so full of the excursion it was such an excursion i shall not forgot not just places cisited but her overall knowledge and enlightment. The best rep i have ever had, she made our day out so enjoyable. Tui have an excellent rep in this girl and taught us so much of the places were you loved to listen to her stories and for me took it all in . Well done tui with Andri!!

The coach arrived on time and Chris our guide was welcoming and gave an explanation of how the day would be . On the way he pointed out places of interest and the history of each encouraging participantion from everyone. There was plenty of stops for the toilets on route which was great as it is a very long day ...much longer than advised on the trip description. We would have preferred more time at the abandoned city of Famagusta and less time on the coach and ruins .

The day was advertised as 8 hours, this trip could not be done in this time. Either be realistic or cut out Salamis. This is an unkempt area with too many people trying to lusten to a guide with a heavily accented englush language. She repeated herself on the coach three times and was a bit political. Just be quiet! Enjoyed Farmagusta very much and Varosha but didnt need a group tour alk the time. Would have liked to explore Varosha on our own and sit on the beach as plenty of others were d

After my experience with the hotel, I wasn't holding out much hope but we were pleasantly surprised. Lisa the tour guide was amazing, very knowledgeable and conveyed details of the history of Famagusta, and Varosha which were humbling. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience current history of northern Cyprus. Thank you Lisa for your personal stories.

It's was a very moving experience in Varosha. The tour also gave us a chance to see more of Cyprus. The guide ula was fantastic. So knowledgeable. She made the trip what it was. A long day but a very emotionable/ enjoyable day.
