Konavle valley's distinctive culture and cuisine are revealed in all their glory during this half-day tour. You'll sample locally grown wines at family-run vineyards, ride a train from village to village and tuck into some traditional food, all in the scenic surroundings of the Konavle valley. Antun, one of our local guides, says, ‘Dubrovačka Malvasija is the renowned grape variety unique to this region. Local winemakers managed to save the species, even though there were only three healthy vines remaining in the post-war period.'Located near the border with Montenegro, between mountains and the Adriatic Sea, the valley is a sun-drenched countryside escape from Dubrovnik. You'll arrive in the village of Zastolje to visit the historic Brajković winery, then it's all aboard to ride to Ljuta by train. Here, you'll see how the 500-year-old Đivanović water mill had dual purposes – since medieval times it was used to produce flour and process wool into fabric.After this visit, we'll continue to a different vineyard and wine cellar for more tasting. You'll sample some local culture when you try a typical ploughman's lunch, just as the farmers would eat during a hard day in the fields. The final stop is a third winery. Antun says, ‘You'll relish a cold glass of Konavle rosé alongside a slice of typical pandišpanj sponge cake at this vineyard. Pandišpanj is traditionally made for special occasions, like this tour, when we welcome our guests to our beautiful Konavle valley.'

This was not a wine tasting as sold. It was expensive for what we got! And 2 out of 5 stops were not related to wine at all! 80 euros each for this was far too much! The train ride was very minimal

excellent accueil chez les différents viticulteurs ; c 'est un plaisir délicat de goûter les vins qui nous sont présentés et on découvre cette vallée verdoyante pleine de vignes. C'est un autre visage de la Croatie.

Whole experience of visiting the different locations on the train was fantastic. Great to meet local farmers and hear about their crafts, sample and purchase their products whilst also seeing the beautiful countryside and learning of its history. Guide was also very good, informative and interesting. Perfect end to our holiday.

Treinrit door een zeer mooie vallei waar je ziet hoe de lokale bevolking hun wijngaarden terug hebben opgebouwd na een woelige periode. En als je hier een souvenir koopt heb je zowel iets uniek gekocht als de lokale telers gesteund.

Disappointing as didn't feel we had value for the money we paid. Beautiful Vinyards, great hosts but the small amounts of wine we received were not what we expected! We travelled for a hour and then met the main bus on the road and then travelled another hour! If the hotel Representative had explained how long this would take we would not have gone.

Der Ausflug ist sehr abwechslungsreich, bietet eine große Übersicht nicht nur über Wein sondern auch über das Leben, Kriegsfolgen und Wiederaufbau in der Region. Vorträge der Eigentümer der Weingüter und Mühlen waren sehr interessant. Leider waren die Erklärungen nicht auf deutsch und nur englisch und französisch.

Our Rep failed to tell us it was a 2hr drive each way and wouldn’t get back until 8.30. We ended up cancelling the experience with no refund. If we had right information before booking we wouldn’t have booked!

Very friendly and knowledgable guide. All the winery staff were very informative and welcoming. The only downside was the transfer to and from the Konavle Valley. We were the first pick up and were sat on the coach for around 90min picking people up before we even started travelling to the valley and we had already done a 30min ferry ride from our hotel before getting on the coach. I appreciate this is neccesary but it would be good for people in Cavtat and Mlini to be picked up separately

Coach transfer was slow with too many hotel pick ups on the way, made worse by returning to 1 hotel to pick up a person who had said they were I’ll and not coming only to change his mind and calling the bus back. 1 hour and forty minutes in total. Return trip was better as drop off order was changed to get us back in time to catch ferry to Kalamoto Island.

I though the tour was great informative concerning other ppl’s cultures how they worked the land growing their own foods & growing the vines.Their history very proud ppl And the scenery breathtaking what a beautiful country . Can recommend this tour

Having previously been on this/similar tour pre 2019 and found it very good value, we were slightly disappointed to find most wineries were only offering two wines to sample and one of the five five none as it also made flour, which was the purpose of the visit. Previously it was five wineries with three wines to sample at each, one which was not visited this time even supplied a peasant's lunch. In all I find the cutbacks will eventually be to the detriment of the participating wineries.

The experience was fantastic, very informative and packed full of history. The tour is great, the locations are beautiful and the hosts are very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this tour. Only issue we had, was our tour date was changed and the tour did not pick us up on the new date/time. We had to contact the Tui rep to contact the tour so they could send someone to collect us. They did send someone and we managed to get on the main bus.

Het was ongelooflijk fantastische excursie van het begin tot het eind. De gids Ante Anthony was meer dan geweldig. Hij is zo toegewijd en zorgzaam en vertelt op humoristische en serieuze wijze alles wat we graag willen weten. Hij doet dat vanuit zijn hart. Hij vindt het gids zijn echt leuk en zijn enthousiasme is aanstekelijk. Werkelijk heel bijzonder om zo iemand als gids te hebben. Wellicht goed om even aan te geven: neem voor de terugtocht warme kleding mee. Ante bood mij zijn jas aan!

Good trip. Variety of places to visit. Comfortable coach ride to start of tour. Most places we visited, staff were friendly and welcoming and seemed pleased to see us. (Mijas vineyard.. owners there not as enthusiastic as the other places we visited and we just all stood outside while they talked, which was not so comfortable as the other places we visited) Tour guide good.

The afternoon wine tasting was interesting overall, however, the train ride was a road seaside style train ( not at all what we expected). The journey to & from our hotel was quite long to get to a few wine tastings. There was no looking in a cellar or much information about the process of producing wine, whereas the stop for the olive oil production was very informative.

We really enjoyed this tour, even though we are teetotal!. The train ride was fun and we enjoyed meeting local people and sampling very small samples of olive oil, cheese, olives and cake. There was a glass of apple juice offered at one venue and water offered at the other three. It would have been nice for non-drinkers to have been offered apple juice or a soft drink at all four as we paid more for this half a day trip than a full day trip. Nice, friendly and enjoyable afternoon out though.

Olisi ollut mukava kuulla suomen kieltä myös, eikä vain englantia ja ranskaa. Lisäksi opas kehitti jättämään kassit bussiin mutta ei maininnut että pääsemme bussiin vasta klo 19.00 jolloin oli jo kylmä ja bussissa oli takit.

It was a great trip visiting and learning about the vineyards. It took over 2 hours to pick up all the guests as we were the first pick up at Kalamota island. It would be better to maximise the time at the vineyards. Travelling by train was great and wine, food and experience was very good. As we did end up buying wine. Our tui rep did tell us we could pay by card on the trip and this was only the case at the last vineyard so think that should be made clearer

It took nearly 2 hours to reach our destination as there were endless pick ups, that did put a damper on the beginning of the trip, and had put me off attending other Tui trips. However, once there the rest of the trip was superb.

Nice to see the countryside, the owners and families of the various stops were all knowledgeable and interesting in their products.Could have done with information on the grape production itself. Only down side was the amount of time taken for pickups on the way ,1 and half hours which was not acceptable.

Meeting winery owners was great, learning about the war and how it’s played a role in the region was the best part. We have scored the experience as 6/10 because we spent so long travelling and it took up a full day of our holiday for £150. We spent around 3 hours wine tasting and another 3 hours travelling which was too much and made the experience drag.

Highly recommend. Out guide Tom was excellent. Bit of a journey with all the pick-ups along the way and it was extremely hot but would still recommend. Families were welcoming and appreciated the visit/sales.

Relaxed atmosphere, leisurely pace, enthusiastic local owners telling us about their lives and businesses, opportunity to interact with other holidaymakers. Transfer process is annoying when you are amongst the first to be picked up and the last to be dropped off.

Pleasant tour of various places although the information provided at each site was variable. Some gave us some really great insight into their wines and others didn't even mention the wine (instead briefing us on olive oil production and how water wheels were used to power cloth hammers)

We loved the trip, Guide was friendly and informative. Each winery offered something different. Lots of interesting history and the scenery is beautiful. Wine tasting and local nibbles to eat all delicious. Local owners and their families very hospitable. The reason for a lower score on safety is the taxi driver who transferred us to the coach. We have also noted this with other Tui taxi drivers. Using their mobile phones, not hands free when driving!!! We were scared. Roads steep and winding.

It was a lovely day very well organised The different wine places we visited the people how ran them were all very accommodating lots of info was given Lovely wine to drink Guide from TUI wasn’t very good But went on another trip a few days later and the same guy was very good Perhaps he was just as hot as everyone else on the day of the wine trip after all it was exceptional hot day
