Na dit off-road avontuur voor alleen volwassenen heb je het gevoel dat je elke hoek van het kleine eiland Boa Vista kent. Met een deskundige gids die je rondleidt, kom je ook meer te weten over de geschiedenis en cultuur van het gebied. En je gaat geen enkele uitdaging uit de weg als je door de Viana woestijn stuitert. Ook neem je een kijkje bij het scheepswrak bij Cabo de Santa Maria en je verkent Povoacao Velha. En je smult van een lunch in een restaurant aan zee. Manuel, een van onze deskundige lokale gidsen, zegt: "Het strand met het scheepswrak is een zeer suggestieve plek, een van de mooiste van het eiland. Het schip liep in 1968 aan de grond en heeft hier sindsdien altijd gelegen.”Je vertrekt richting de Viana woestijn en laat je betoveren door het ongerepte landschap van Boa Vista tijdens deze 4x4 tour boordevol actie. Voel de wind in je haren als je met een 4x4 over de zandduinen raast. Daarna ga je naar het roestende scheepswrak van Cabo de Santa Maria – een symbool van Boavista. De volgende stop is Chamine de Chaves, gevolgd door een relaxte lunch in een restaurant aan het strand.En verder ga je, naar Povaocao Velha – de oudste nederzetting op het eiland. Je struint op je gemak wat rond in het dorp en vangt een glimp op van het lokale leven. Dan is het alweer tijd voor onze laatste stop: het strand van Santa Monica. Een dromerige plek vol Caribische kleuren. Houd je camera in de aanslag, want dit zalige strand is een van de meest gefotografeerde plekken op het eiland. En met 18 kilometer wit zand en golvende duinen snap je waarom deze strook zand is uitgeroepen tot een van de tien beste stranden ter wereld.

It all felt a bit rushed - the market in Sal rei was not a pleasant experience being hassled by traders. The shipwreck visit was ok but I was shocked about how much rubbish was there - if everyone in the tour was given a rubbish bag and asked to fill it - it would make a huge difference but it needs to be taken away just not left to rot in a pile - also the lunch stop was amazing and would have been more suitable to stay there to swim as the ocean was too rough at the next stop - we missed swim

The tour was in the main an off road trip. We spent most of the time being shaken. Not suitable for a couple like us in our 70s. The driver had to go fast in the deep sand and this was both uncomfortable and at times worrying. We would not have gone on this trip if we had known. As your records will show my wife got food poisoning from this trip and it has spoilt our remaining days in your resort. So we are not very happy.

Paulo was totally outstanding, very attentive making sure everyone had their drinks food and was checking we were ok, his knowledge of the history of Cabo verde and especially Boa Vista is remarkable, we found him and our driver (who I am embarrassed to say I have forgotten his name) total gentlemen and a credit to the Tui company.

The guide and driver were both great fun and very informative. I wish I could recall their names to single them out for praise, but I can't. Good variety of stops and activities. The only fly in the ointment is that I paid by card for convenience. 233 Euro turned into £285 on my bank statement. I feel that your reps should point out that card payments attract fees and give poor currency exchange rates. I had the 233 Euro in cash, had I paid that way I would have saved myself around £85.

My husband, daughter 19 & I all thoroughly enjoyed this day out. We would highly recommend it. We loved visiting the shipwreck & the sand boarding was fun. Our only negative would be that we really did not have enough time to visit each stop properly. It was a brilliant day out overall though!

We enjoyed meeting our guide Paulo and found him very knowledgeable and accommodating. The places we visited were very intresting and the lunch provided was superb. However, we did not find the vehicle ver easy to get in and out of plus sitting sideways restricted the views of the landscape and other points of interest as we drove around. Overall we would recommend.

Too much driving was involved. The sand boarding was a poor experience. The visit to the church was not required, we gained nothing from this experience. The visit to Santa Monica beach was a waste of time, no swimming on a supposed safe beach. If you paid me what I paid you to go on this trip again I would turn you down. As usual the staff were amazing throughout the day, they are a real asset. I will not be paying for an excursion with TUI ever again. Always come away feeling ripped off

Our tour guide Paulo was fantastic. He was a mine of information about Boa Vista and the other islands. He answered our many questions with ease and was fun and lively all day. My wife and I had a really good day out. Give this man a raise he does a brilliant job. A real credit to TUI.

The main issue is that you spend way too much time in the Jeep, with short stops. Saying that, it is probably the only way to see the island, at least in part. The lunch venue was OK. My food was fine but my wife’s wasn’t good. Not enough time at Santa Monica beach. There is only 1 guide for the group. We were lucky to have him with us, but the other vehicle isn’t even connected by radio, so learn nothing. Total unacceptable, especially with the price charged per person.

Information about the island was excellent and all sites visited very informative I did say on seeing the impact of plastics being washed up I wish TUI would make available the opportunity for guests to give up half or a day of their holiday to help clean up the beaches of all the washed up plastics

Es wurden Fahrzeuge mit unterschiedlichem Standard eigesetzt. Wir saßen in einem Landrover hinten mit zu niedriger Decke in gestauchter Position, sehr unbequem, und kamen ständig mit dem Kopf an die Fahrzrugdecke. Das andere Fahrzeug, LandCruiser, war geräumiger. Wir haben den gleichen Preis für eine unbequemere Tour bezahlt und fordern eine Erstattung von jeweils 50% (2x55 Euro) für diesen Komfort-und Qualitätsunterschied!

Lewis was very informative went over and above what we have experienced from other tour Reps.. He and Nelson (The Driver) really made us all feel safe whilst walking around and driving through trickery areas including the off road dessert areas. Lunch stop excellent choice. Service Overall 8 due to internal issue not letting Lewis Know that Nicola is extremely Claustrophobic request for front seat was not relayed. But fortunately it did not change the experience overall 10/10

We enjoyed the beach at the end of the trip and the sand dunes. However, we were told we would be able to walk and see more of Sal Rei, the rep advised to take money and we could get a coffee etc instead we had a stop at a disused well and a fish market. In addition we wanted to book the trip in the app as there was 10% discount. We were told not to do that by the rep as there is confusion with pick up locations. The discount was not honoured when we booked through the rep. ??

My wife was sat at the front of the bench in the 4x4 so was able to ask the guide (Paulo) questions. As a result, we learned a great deal about the island, it's political structure, tourism, population, pensions, lack of hospitals/crime/jails and TUIs contribution to new roads. We also learnt a lot about the guide, who was equally loquaicious. When we spoke to others in different vehicles, we knew far more facts than they did and we impressed them with our comprehensive knowledge.

Very basic trip - cramped vehicle - pathetic trip into Sal Rei - great 4x4 through the sand however not at all suitable for people who suffer with travel sickness - the cramped vehicle did not help - no safety straps fitted to hold onto! The chapel visited wasn’t as expected and not even a candle to light - this is supposed to be a Christian church. Santa Monica beach - pretty enough but we couldn’t even take a dip in the sea. Lunch was very good. Expensive day for what you got. Did get you out.

The excursion was enjoyable overall, with a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide who made the experience engaging. However, the price—over €110—felt excessive given the cramped conditions. Being squeezed into the back of a 4x4 with six other adults made the journey uncomfortable, more like rush hour on the underground than a premium holiday experience. At this price point, greater emphasis should be placed on quality over quantity.

The overall experience was very good. The tour be more tailored to visitors needs ie the first drop off/experience was mainly ann intro to the what we could expect for the rest of the day. There wasn’t any opportunity to visit the craft/local markets and shops, the last drop off/visit was to allow us to swim which was a totally waste of time as the venue wasn’t up to standard, the customer experience was none existence, lack of beach facilities plus we were expected to pay for our refreshments

Paolo and djassi were absolutely amazing. Paolo was such a lovely caring knowledgeable person who made sure everyone was safe and happy. Djassi is an amazing driver and showed us his skills on the sand. Only issue which was no one’s fault was the flies, food was lovely as was drinks. Sandboarding a fab experience and fun! (Except I crashed into the tyres! Not hurt tho!)

I’m not sure how to improve. The agenda was excellent, the tour guide I think his name was Paolo is very passionate about his role as a guide and for his love of Boa Vista. The only thing I can think of is maybe have a tour guide in both 4x4 jeeps. So questions could be asked while traveling.

Carlos our driver was excellent - professional and a great driver. Paulo was personable and knowledgeable but somewhat egotistical and shared too much personal information. He commented that he is a 4x4 guy - explaining he has 4 children with 4 different women. He told us how much his mortgage is etc. several times I thought to ask something about what I could see but he was talking about himself. Also felt he made too much comment about expectation of a tip.

overall felt this trip is not worth the money, we was the 2nd vehicle so had no guide explaining sights along the routes driver didn't speak, long drive in over packed vehicle made it uncomfortable as you faced each other and no where to move legs. stops where short when we visited places 15/20mins at times so could not see anything. Pablo the guide told us more about how poor they was then other facts and to keep tipping. didn't even say bye to our vehicle he just went but to tip driver well

For an extremely bumpy ride I would have preferred front facing seats. The bench seats really don’t offer a good / comfortable experience and try not to sit right next to the door when you are 6’3” !! The sites visited were ok … good explanations of the history of the Island group.

Enjoyed the tour guide Palo. Shipwreck was brilliant and offloading to get there was alot of fun. Enjoyed being told the history of the island and shown pictures. The lunch provided was delicious and at a great location. What we didn't like so much - sand dunes were disappointing. This couldn't be helped - unable to swim in the beautiful seas.

My sister and I had a wonderful time on the tour. Paolo our tour guide was the best, incredibly knowledgeable with a lot of humour thrown in. The driver was great and impressed us with his driving skills through the desert and along some of the bumpy roads. It’s a small island but we got to see enough, beautiful beach views and met some of the friendly locals along the way. This really is a beautiful island with no stress. Lunch was delicious and exceeded our expectations.

A good way to see different aspects of Boa Vista in a small group of 8. Guide ( Paolo)excellent. Safely driven by George Rough off reading at times, sufferers of bad backs etc take note ! Sandboarding really good fun Excellent lunch. gf and lactose free catered for. Would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to learn more and see the island.

The smaller group was great. We were able to get time with a really knowledgeable and local guide, and ask questions. We had time at places, ahead of crowds who seemed to follow us. The guide was fantastic, and the fact we were away from the crowds was a huge bonus

Not a lot too see and far too much off road travel for most people. Very rough and several people felt queasy. Lunch was amazing.

The sightseeing overall was very good, as was the lunch. 6ft 2inme and other people were crammed in the back with very little space to manoeuvre, we had 7 in the back and 1 up front.

The only thing we would have liked is a bit more information as we was going along about the island and islanders x we didn’t have the guide in our car so probably missed a few things x

This was great value for money, with a meal included. The tour guide and the driver, Lewis and Nelson were exceptional. I say this as my occupation is both a tour guide and an off road instructor for Land Rover, so I know how demanding the roles are. Lewis’s breadth of knowledge was immense, and had the answer to every question put to him. Nelson, not only doubled up as an extremely capable driver but also a brilliant photographer, taking many memorable shots that were sent to us free of charge

Basically you see 2 chapels and you have a nice lunch for a €100 It was lucky our tour guide was fantastic and the other guests were a laugh otherwise we would want some kind of refund

The driver and guide were very good. I think the tour is overpriced as there is not a great deal to see on the island. Most of the day was spent driving.

Även detta var en toppen aktivitet. Bra guidning fick se mycket. God mat under dagen. Så kul med sandboarding, off road körningen :) Santa Monica beachen var helt otroligt vacker.

Paulo, the guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. We got to see parts of the island that we wouldn’t otherwise have gone to. The only downside was a church that we went to wasn’t open as the key wasn’t available to our guide but overall it wasn’t y that big a deal as the chapel was tiny so I bet there wasn’t much to see anyway. Lunch was good as was the visit to the shipwreck. A good day out.
