Als je het verleden van Menorca wil leren kennen, is deze tocht naar de voormalige hoofdstad van het eiland ideaal. De geplaveide straten van Ciutadella, zijn kerken en paleizen maken het een genot om te voet te verkennen. Helen, een van onze gidsen, zegt: “Ik woon al meer dan 30 jaar in Ciutadella en ken elk hoekje, elk geheim”. Je sluit de tour af met wat vrije tijd om op eigen gelegenheid meer te ontdekken of souvenirs te scoren.Je trapt af met een rondleiding. Zo loop je langs het met palmbomen beschaduwde Plaça d'es Born, dat wordt beschouwd als een van de mooiste pleinen van Spanje. En dan zijn er nog de weelderige paleizen die in de omliggende stegen verscholen liggen. Je bezoekt een van deze aristocratische herenhuizen, het 17e-eeuwse Casa Olivar, dat vol staat met antiek en wandtapijten. Kijk ook even omhoog voor alle plafondfresco's. 'De oude stad is een doolhof van smalle, kronkelende stegen omringd door honingkleurige gebouwen die baden in het zonlicht, en de kleine vissershaven is ook echt een plaatje,' zegt Helen.Dan heb je een paar uur de tijd aan jezelf om rond te dwalen. Snuffel rond in de winkels in het centrum en tik souvenirs, snuisterijen, kleding en nog veel meer op de kop. En op de markt vind je nog meer lokale producten, textiel en lederwaren. Onze tip? Koop een paar abarcas – overal zie je de lokale bewoners met deze typische Menorquin sandalen rondlopen. Of gebruik je tijd om een paar musea te bezoeken, bij een van de sfeervolle cafés in de haven neer te strijken of de barokke kathedraal te bekijken. Voor het einde van je tour ga je naar Monte Toro, het hoogste punt van het eiland, waar je geniet van het uitzicht op zee en wat foto's maakt.

We enjoyed seeing more of the Island and Daniel was very knowledgeable and friendly! Excellent job! A little more time would have been good as this was only a half day tour. Especially at the first stop to have had more of a leisurely look around as you have a coffee and biscuit stop included. We were lucky as there was only 2 coaches at this time, at peak busy times you would easily run out of time.

It was a fantastic experience and a great way to learn more about the island’s culture and history. What I particularly enjoyed was that our guide was a local. He was not only knowledgeable but also very engaging—his stories and insights really brought the history of Ciutadella to life. It felt more personal and authentic because he clearly had he clearly had a real passion for his hometown. northern part of the island, where we went up to the highest point in Menorca. The views were stunning.

We started off heading to the mountain ElToro with Nicola as our guide the information we received on route from her was very informative of the island, the views at the top was amazing next stop was the old town centre where again Nicola explained all the history there and even was around to advise us of a place to eat in our free time which was lovely. The half day trip was well worth the money getting back to our hotel for 3pm we had a very enjoyable day

We had a lovely time, at mount toro you can see a 360 view of the island which was amazing and tried a menorca cake with a drink. The history of the church was fascinating. The walking tour in the old capital was good but I felt personal the guide need to interact with people more and at glances for google up on his phone to find information with was a bit concerning. Overall is was good but don’t book on an extremely hot day.

Only gripe was being collected late and with all the pick ups and drop offs en route, the half day trip starting at 8:30 took most of the day, as we arrived back around 3pm. Otherwise, thoroughly enjoyable experience with Daniel who is extremely knowledgeable. Would have liked more free time to explore independently however, so I feel another trip to the beautiful city is necessary.

We enjoyed the Ciutadella tour, started off with a visit to Monte del Toro and then the walking tour of Ciutadella including visiting Casa del Oliver at the end. We had 2 hours free time after and left Cuitadella at 2.30pm.

Our guide, Nicola, was wonderful during the whole tour. She shared her superb local knowledge throughout the day. Our guide, Daniel, was great. Had so much information to share and had a brilliant sense of humour which added to an already fun day. Loved going up to the mountain and seeing the sights. Was great to have the guided tour around the city as it would have been very easy to lose ourselves in all the alleyways! And was wonderful to have some free time while there to enjoy

The city itself was beautiful and well worth the visit. The guide was knowledgeable but a bit difficult to understand at times. Our journey time to Ciutadella was split on the way in and direct on our return. The guided tour was an hour long which leaving 2 hours of free time. We felt that the amount of free time could easily of been extended to allow us to explore more of the area and and would have gave more time for lunch and nosing about without constantly clock watching. Despite that great.

The tour guide Nicola made this trip really interesting with her wealth of knowledge, she pointed out so many things that you would not notice if you did the tour on your own. Slightly longer on the tour would be good. Include cathedral tour.

It was a very lengthy transfer picking up in a few different places and waiting in the bus for other groups to join, meaning we had at least 30 minutes less time in Ciutadella than we expected. Otherwise everything was excellent, Daniel was very good at explaining the historical context of the places we visited and clear in giving directions to help us make the most of the free time we had.

Even better tour than the Mahón one. The town is beautiful and historic. Would love to either go as a whole day tour with entrance to the cathedral, or have an option for own return from town so you can spend more time exploring and grabbing food.

The tour guide was excellent ?? The bus journey was fragmented due to the number of pick ups and transfer making it unnecessarily long. Also the price point is high.

Throughly enjoyed the tour, fortunately it was in the morning so we were able to shop in the market. The only suggestion I would make is perhaps make it a full day so that you could have longer to to eat in one of the restaurants.

Our guide Daniel was fantastic. He kept us enthralled and entertained with his knowledge and humour. We would have liked more time on the guided tour and less time for our own exploration, but that's our personal view, and others may disagree.

We arrived in Ciutadella at 9.30am with the Coach and had to wait seated in the coach for over 1 hour because the Tour Guide was very late, this was unacceptable. The walking guide of the town and Casa Olivar with the guide was good, but we did waste 1 hour waiting on the coach!
