Thought the trip was good value, bit of a long day, 9.5 hours, but enjoyable. Some people have commented on reviews that the boat trip was unnecessary but it is part of the trip, if you don't want to go on it, don't buy this excursion. It goes out around the bay for an hour, and is something different. The castle is very different, a modern build based on fairytales, again not something you would normally see, we didn't get the impression the small animal area was neglected. Sozopol is nice.

The castle was excellent but not enough time to enjoy. No time to walk all around or have a coffee or take everything in. Boat trip was unnecessary. A complete waste of time. The money spent for the boat should be used for better food. Restaurant was appalling. Food was awful, best thing was the salad. Soup totally bland and a stew with a knife and fork. Waiters rude. However Sozopol is beautiful. Needs more time to explore, to be able to shop and sightsee. Guide was knowledgeable.

Sozopol was a beautiful place and we enjoyed walking around on the guided tour very much. The lunch was lovely in a great restaurant with a exceptional view. Visit to the castle was very interesting and a great place for photos. On the negative side the bus was a terrible experience as our seats were broken, due to a full bus we couldn't exchange them and because the seat was so layed back it has caused me back pain ever since the trip.

Loved all three experiences. Grounds of the castle were enjoyable to walk through. The boat trip was great for taking photos of the scenery and Sozopol was breathtaking to see. The food at the restaurant was excellent. The female tour guide on the coach and the male tour guide at Sozopol were outstanding as I temporarily lost my phone and they did all they could to help.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The boat trip was enjoyable and tour of Sozopol Town was very good. The meal at the Windmill Restaurant was a bit bland and I felt rushed by the servers but that it probably because of the number of parties that eat there. The castle was great.. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the day.

The Tui description of the trip isnt accurate at all. The caste was small, poorly maintained with poor animal conditions. The boat trip was a just loop out of the port ant back. There as no guide information on the sites and there was no comunication that the boat was cash only. The town and the tour its self was amazing, the tour guide was very knowledgeable.

The trip was good, the guide and the food all good. Unfortunately the castle had some very mistreated animals which ruined it for us at the end of the day. We cannot believe Tui would support a tourist attraction that allowed such animal cruelty. There were 3 badly treated dogs, one chained up with no access to shade or water, 1 with filthy matted fur & an untreated sore on its nose. All in tiny cages. Dead fish in the filthy pond & a sad parrot with year old water. Disgraceful -Tui take action!

Its was extremely bad weather with heavy rain and there was no guided tour of the town due to the rain , the castle trip was cut short because it was raining you abd the trip was shortened by an hour. No refund or partial refund was given even though we didn't get the full tour. The food included was cold and not to our tastes. It was set menu but it doesn't say this in the trip when booking

My teenagers are difficult to please and a full day trip away from the pool is hard to get them to agree to or enjoy but we all thoroughly enjoyed this! There was so much to see and do. A very hot day but the town was wonderful and our guides very knowledgeable, time to wander with your own group, lunch that was provided was brilliant and the castle was truly the most magnificent place. It was way more than we expected and well worth the price for our group of 4.

Ivo our tour guide was brilliant and so knowledgeable, even on the journey to Sozopol he talked through the things we could see on the journey and also gave us key information about each stage. Good variety in experiences of the day and good value for money. I would say an improvement would be to allocate seating on the coaches so groups that book together are guaranteed to sit together, especially on busier days.

Wish there was other trips we could have done but quad bikes with an 8 year old was not what we wanted more like this day trip would have been amazing as it’s nice bring by the pool getting the sun but good knowing about where you are and the history of the place

Firstly we was the only two collected from our location and we had to meet the tour at dreams when we was staying at secrets. It's advertised as an 8 hr trip, yet it turned out to be 10+ hours. The coach journey was 2 hrs each way. The boat trip was a shambles and you felt like the boat would tip over it was the rough. No guide with us to explain anything. Sozapol - lunch AWFUL! Kids chicken and chips was better than what we got. Didn't get long enough at the castle. Needed all afternoon.

Sozopol itself and our guide and driver were great. Ravidanovo Castle is a an absolute waste of time and frankly a problematic issue for us due to conditions animals in petting zoo are kept. It also should not be advertised as a castle but more as an amusement attraction. This should be a half day trip and Ravidanovo in this day and age is an outdated and out of touch destination.

Guide was very knowledgeable, boat trip was very relaxing, Sozopol beautiful and laid back and the restaurant was top notch, providing a hearty and delicious meal with a scenic view. The castle was very cool however the “zoo” was a little depressing and detracted from an otherwise incredible and interesting zany location.

The castle was fun for the children but I, personally thought it was a waste of time. The boat ride was ok but I assumed we would be given some information about what we were seeing. The TUI guide had told us before we arrived at the boat but, seemingly, just as part of the general info. I didn’t realise that was it. The weather was unfortunate and beyond anyone’s control. The walking tour of Sozopol was very good, the guide was excellent.

The tour guide (Ilvanyas?) Was amazing! So knowledgable even about the locals!, attentive and friendly. The boat trip was fun and even saw a Dolphin!, Sozopol was gorgeous and full of culture, the 4 course meal was lovely and facing out into the black sea, and the castle was fantastic!. Straight out of a Gothic Fairy tale. Absolutely beautiful design and grounds.

It was a great day but I found how the animals are kept at the castle ( the horses were in a yard of mud and the shelter in the donkey area was broken with a large shard on the ground ) quite upsetting.

Fantastic trip! Excellent value for money. Beautiful lunch with lovely views of the sea. Extremely knowledgeable guide. Really nice bus driver with luxury coach. Incredible, modern castle with really cool grounds. Sozopol was a charming little town. Highly recommend this trip!

The guide was so great and gave us alot of extra info off the bus, as the other tui guide for another country, had the microphone 90% of the time on the coach. We had no clue what he was saying, but Martina was excellent. Sozopol was lovely, again Martina was fab and showed us places which were really interesting. Food was fab, and the castle was great to see. A brilliant day apart from the Tui rep for the other country who we had to listen to near enough the whole time on the coach.

Overall enjoyed the experience. It was well organised and the tour guide was very good. The areas we didn't like so much. 1. Thought it was too long a day for what was involved. The spare time was too long. Each time we were allocated specific spare time, we got back to coach much earlier than the allocated time as we had explored everything we wanted to. Most people came back much earlier. 2. Would have preferred to miss the excursion to the Castle and headed back. Wasn't impresssed.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and gave us so much info about Bulgaria and it's history . He explained the itinerary so we knew where we were going and what we could expect to see. Our only disappointment was the castle was not a castle , more like a Disney theme park , but understand that it is a popular attraction so for many worth a visit .

Amazing tour that was good value for money. The tour guide for English speaking was interesting and informative. Had a beautiful 1 hour boat trip around Sozopol, a guided walking tour, a 4 course Bulgarian meal at the Windmill in Sozopol, free time and a trip to Radinovo castle which was amazing.

The boat and town was very good the guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. The castle at the end was in my view pointless. It was just a giant prop. I can see where the family that own it are going with this, with the small waterpark next door it’s obvious the are thinking of a little theme park. But at the moment not worth a visit.

Great to see some of Bulgaria. Less time needed to wander the town and maybe more at the castle 30mins more and less in each. Also, get the toilets on the bus working, it's over an hour back to hotel with the drop offs and kids needed the loo. Had to jump off the buss and use wild facilities in the end. Still, a great trip.

Hi everyone, Well, I have spent a week in Bulgaria, between 13 May and 20th May. I was excited about the tour in Sozopol where I could take a boat ride on the Black Sea, enjoying the view and the nature, St John's Church, a 3 meal course lunch in Del Muro reastaurant by the sea, and the breath-taking Ravadinovo Castle. Personally, I enjoyed the overall tour, but my favourite experience was Ravadinovo Castle. It is a must to see! Suzy

The boat trip and Sozopol were great. We were really impressed with the restaurant we visited for lunch. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. The castle is a spectacle but is a new build so has no historical significance. The inside is not finished so you can only see from the outside. All in all, a great day.

Its an excellent tour overall, with a knowledgeable and interesting guide. The boat is cheesy but a lot of fun, with great views of Sozopol and the Islands. Sozopol itself was interesting and the history explained well. The castle was a great place to visit and we would have liked a lot more time to enjoy that space - it could easily be an enjoyable half-day or longer by itself. The main downside is just the lack of time to really appreciate the places. The food was not exciting, but was good.

Absolutely amazing experience. The tour guide was very good, extremely knowledgeable and interesting. Gave us a lot of useful information about visiting Bulgaria in general, not just information about the sights. Tour started as soon as you stepped onto the coach which made the long journey interesting. Great lunch, well organised and definitely value for money.

The whole tour was OK, but maybe too long in Sozopol as would have liked more time at the castle. Would have liked commentary on boat trip about the area we was passing, the biatjyst went round in a circle. Guide was very informative though on the walking parts.

I loved the castle, the boat, time in sozopol,information, the meal. It was fantastic. However, it wasn't as advertised. I expected to visit the town first so planned to withdraw cash. Instead we went to the castle first that only accepted cash so I couldnt buy any souvenirs. Or use the toilet! which should be free. Coach audio was bad so hard to hear. The sozopol tour was at the hottest time of the day and before food. The guide clearly had political views about Ukraine. Drinks not included.

Should rename this tour to ‘Sozopol and surrounding area’ rather than the grandiose’Souther Bulgaria Tour’ cos we went to one place: Sozopol. That didn’t make it a ‘tour’ but more a day trip out! Having said that the things we did on the tour were great; the castle visit was great; boat trip around the harbour lovely, Sozopol is beautiful, food was tasty and guide knew her stuff!

Our tour guide Ivanylo was extremely knowledgeable. The boat ride on Poseidon was lots of fun. Sozopol was a great historical town but we didn’t feel we needed the free time after lunch. Lunch was very tasty, if a little heavy for the time of day. We’d have liked more time at Ravadinova Castle & it would have been great to see Pomorie as. Ivanylo talked about it a lot. Overall we would definitely recommend this tour.

Very interesting & full day out. Visit to Ravadinovo Castle before heading to Sozopol for a boat trip & a walking tour & lunch. This is where the tour really fell down, 4 course lunch comprising of salad starter (toms cucum & cheese) veg soup (which was actually quite nice, however was barely warm) pork stew & rice (about 5 chunks of pork in sauce & stodgy rice) the vegetarian option was chips with stodgy rice! This again was barely warm and rice inedible. If you choose this tour, take food!

Guide was really informative both the boat trip and visit to Sozopol were really enjoyable. Visit to castle was a huge let down, we were expecting to visit a historical building but instead we ended up in some kind of theme park castle that appeared to have been built in the middle of building site. I appreciate lots of work and love had gone into building the castle but I do think Tui should have been more up front about the construction as quite a few people we spoke to were also disappointed.

Fantastic tour but this was mostly because the tour guide was amazing - Ivalyo - his knowledge is outstanding, he was so attentive and all with a sense of humour. The cruise was lovely. Sozopol was interesting, lots of shops to buy souvenirs. Lunch was 4 courses of traditional food, kids got chicken and chips. The fairy tale castle is not what I expected but we all really enjoyed it. Only gripe was that I was getting emails after I paid and the price seemed to have gone down of the tour!

Excellent tour. Very knowledgeable tour guide. Gave us a great insight into Bulgaria and it's culture from the very start of the coach journey. Good variety including walking tour, boat trip, restaurant and castle etc..

The day is great. Not too long on the coach and you get lots of historical information from the guide and some free time. The highlight was our guide, she was very knowledgable. The worst part was lunch. It was soooo hit and then w e arrive at the restaurant and they serve set menus of hot soup and stew! I would prefer not to have this, we didn’t. It was just too hot to eat that. All you wanted was a nice salad, bread, meat and cheeses. Please change this in future.

The boat and the music was amazing, we had a lovely time. We just didn't find the information about where the bus was picking us up from clear enough, because the other excursions we went on picked us up from the front door of our hotel, but this one picked us up from outside - which we missed originally - but the reception in our hotel rang the rep and they came back for us (we were waiting for 20 mins). It is partly our fault, but I didn't find the instructions clear. Very glad they came back!

Our tour guide was very friendly and informative. The boat trip was very enjoyable and the walk around Sozopol really interesting. The castle was very quirky and unusual.

For the price the tour had so much content and variety. Boat cruise, guided walking tour and amazing castle. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and had a lovely quirky attitude, he reminded us of Brendan from coach trip.

The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The lunch provided was excellent. We had booked a trip that included a boat trip. Seeing as half as the resort was closed when we arrived I can not believe that TUI didn't know that boat trips would not running when they sold us the trip. They did organize wine tasting instead, I felt really sorry for the poor kids that were looking forward to a boat trip and ended up with wine tasting!
