Cyprus is all rolling hills dotted with pretty villages. On this adults-only tour, you'll see where a legend was born, visit the ruins of Kourion, venture to the village of Omodos and cap off the day with a wine tasting. Eva, one of our local guides, says of this excursion, ‘You'll wander through layers of history, culture and mythology, and learn about Aphrodite. The rituals connected with her, as well as the plants and seashells associated with her legacy.'You'll dive straight into the past to see Petra tou Romiou — a sea stack where, according to legend, love goddess Aphrodite was born. We keep the theme ancient at Kourion, one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Cyprus. Visit the Roman baths and amble into the site's centrepiece, the Greco-Roman theatre. Concerts are still held to this day. The 15th-century Kolossi Castle is up next. This Crusader-built fortress is surrounded by blooming plants.Then, we'll head for a local lunch in a family-run taverna before visiting mountain-fringed Omodos, where you'll wander around skinny cobbled streets lined with Byzantine buildings. It's Eva's favourite village. She says, ‘The charm of the stone houses, the tranquillity and peacefulness – it's as if it has sprung from a fairytale. I love dropping into one of the cafés and seeing locals have philosophical discussions, political arguments and a bit of gossip.' Plus, there's a wine tasting, where you'll learn all about sweet commandaria wine.

A fantastic trip with a very knowledgeable guide. We spent the right amount of time at each location. This gave us enough time to look around in the heat. The only annoying thing is it cost £84 pounds each. We then went on the trip and after this is was reduced it to £60 each.

Leerrijk, lekker (lokaal) eten. Groot nadeel : veel in de bus gezeten. Engelstalige gidse wist enorm veel. Spijtig dat ze veel binnensmonds praatte waardoor het voor anderstaligen moeilijk verstaanbaar was.

Fantastic day trip, really lovely and knowlegable tour guide,small nice bus with air con. It was great experience to visit nice scenic Aphrodite birthplace,followed by archeological site with nice ancient theathre,loved visiting small town Vouni and delish meze lunch in local taverna "Takis", last stop town Omodos was charming and wine tasting very nice with Cypriot wines which you can also purchase at the place. Strongly reccomend the trip!! Well done and thank you

We were very disappointed with the minibus. We were last to get on and the only seats left were 2 seats at the back. My partner and I are slim, I’m only 5’1 and 8 stone! We were very squashed in. The 2 guys sat next to us were not big either but none of us had any room to move. It was very hot and to spend the day travelling like that was not acceptable. If we had been bigger people there would not have been enough room to sit!

We thoroughly enjoyed this trip and the guide was excellent and very knowledgeable, I use a walking stick but managed most of the trip . The only problem was the size of the coach it was a bit cramped for the number of passengers . The lunch was excellent although too many courses . A good day out

Unsere Guide Dame Gudrun war wunderbar informiert, man hat gemerkt, dass sie gern auf Zypern lebt und ihre Erfahrungen weiter gibt. Das kleine Restaurant zu Mittag war wirklich außergewöhnlich schön! Manchmal war etwas wenig Zeit, aber wenn sie viele Orte an einem Tag besucht werden, ist das verständlich.

The guide and driver were excellent. Glad it was a minibus and not a full coachload - much more our cup of tea! We had enough time to see the sites and have a good look around. Lunch was absolutely fabulous, the only complaint was that we hadn't finished eating when we were told it was time to leave and that's why I haven't given the full 10/10. Could have spent less time at the wine tasting and Omodos to have left a bit longer for a more relaxed lunch. Overall though, an enjoyable day.

We had a wonderful day. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The archaeological remains were very interesting. The meze was amazing. The food just kept coming. The taverna was very well run, with friendly people. The wine tasting tour was informative. And the wines were very good. We did bring a bottle home. We had time to walk around the village afterwards which was interesting. The monastery and Aphrodite's rock We had seen before. Altogether, a very good tour.

The whole day was really enjoyable. Initially was a little worried about spending all day on a coach. It wasn’t anything like that. There were plenty of stops to see things. The lunch was totally worth it and there was so much food. We all felt a bit guilty about the amount that was left. Our guide was so knowledgeable. I can really say that there wasn’t any aspect we didn’t like.

Maybe slightly more time in kourion. And it was a shame things were closed in omodos but no ones fault just they were updating the square which was a shame. Wine tasting was brilliant and the tavern for lunch was amazing. They were lovely and the food was excellent. Our guide was so lovely and very knowledgeable she made everything so interesting.

The guide was brilliant. The lunch was excellent. It was good to be part of a small group. The only downside was that we were left with nothing much to do for an hour after the wine tasting. The square in Omodos is closed for renovations at present so there was nothing to see.

Could have done with more time and gone to the other section of the archeology centre. Chris our guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and witty. The lunch was absolutely amazing, they even managed to do some delicious vegetarian dishes as well as nut free food for my son. It was a fantastic day out

Dieser Ausflug war rundum gelungen, angefangen bei den umfassenden Informationen, die uns unser Guide Andreana vermittelte, den interessanten Zielen dieses Trips. Besonders hervorzuheben ist unser Ziel Voumi, wo wir in einer Taverne ein landestypisches Mittagessen erhielten. Der zeitliche Rahmen war gut gesteckt und die Fahrt im Bus war Dank unseres sicheren Fahrers entspannend.

Cette excursion aurait pu être intéressante si nous avions eu la possibilité de la faire en Français. Malheureusement, la seule en français est le vendredi,donc qd on arrive le jeudi soir , que la réunion TUI est le samedi 11 h. Et que nos repartons le jeudi suivant. Ns n avons pu la faire qu avec le guide anglais. 86 euros chacune, bien dommage

Eine sehr gute und schöne Tour (vielleicht wäre es aber möglich gewesen, den Felsen der Aphrodite auch aus der Nähe bewundern zu können). Aber insgesamt ein sehr schöner Ausflug, wobei die Tourführerin und der Busfahrer sicherlich ihren Anteil hatten. Die Besichtigungen wurden immer mit interessanten Informationen ausgestattet und auch auf den Fahrten wurde es nie langweilig. Man fühlte sich immer gut aufgehoben und sicher.

Our guide was very informative and even gave us a demonstration of the amphitheater by giving a short excerpt from a play. The only thing I was disappointed with was the wine tasting. No real information about the wine we were tasting, no background, just very rushed with your glass being filled before you had a chance to finish. Felt too rushed and were more focused on selling, which really just put people off.

Es war eine beeindruckende Fahrt, mit einer hervorragenden Reiseleiterin, die man wirklich alles fragen konnte und ein enormes Wissen hatte. Ich zumindest habe viel über die Geschichte gelernt. Auch das Essen war sehr gut und nicht wie man es kennt ein Touristen-Nepp! Ich würde die Reise, die übrigens in deutscher Sprache war jedem empfehlen.

De bezoek aan de de wijnproeverij vonden wij karig. Maar over de gids niets meer als lof. Fantastisch wat zij te vertellen had over de history van het eiland en zijn verleden. Jammer dat het in Engels was waardoor niet alles even goed over kwam.

The tour was very interesting and the guide very informative. Very relaxed wine tasting. On this tour the free time was just right, not too long. Second time on this tour, a different winyard to last tour. Well worth the price.
