Know in advance:
Discounts only option allows guests to enjoy all Vienna City Card discounts and offers for 7 days by foot. It does not include a Wiener Linien transport ticket, making it perfect for visitors with a Klimaticket or those who prefer exploring the city on foot.
Upon purchase, you will receive a voucher code that you can use to configure your card on the official website. There you can choose your desired delivery method for the Vienna City Card between a print@home ticket or an app ticket. Instructions on how to download your card will be provided after booking
Your city card is activated from the first day you start to use it, not from the date of purchase. It will remain valid for the length of time specified by the kind of card: 24, 48, 72 hours or 7 days
The 7-day Wiener Linien (public transportation) ticket is valid for 7 calendar days from the start of validity until 00:59am on the 8th day and the benefits can be used during the same period
Get access to all details and discounts in the free app "ivie - Wien City Guide". The app is the official city guide app of Vienna with explanations of all famous sights and is available for Android and iOS
One child up to the age of 15 or one dog travels free of charge with every Vienna City Card holder
Please note: the airport lies outside Vienna and your card is only valid within municipal limits. Your Discount Only card does not include public transport and is valid for 7 calendar days from the specified start date

Das Liniennetz der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel ist übersichtlich ,schnell, informativ,sauber und sehr gut organisiert, besser als in Deutschland. Durch die Nutzung der Card kann man jeder Zeit ein- und aussteigen und alle Sehenswürdigkeiten gut erreichen. Jederzeit wieder!!!

Het openbaar vervoer in Wenen is echt goed geregeld. We hebben de metro / tram dagelijks meerdere keren gebruikt en dat werkte heel goed.

De voucher was niet in te wisselen op het aangegeven **********. Lang verder gezocht en bij ander infopunt na lang uitleg een nieuwe voucher met streepjescode ontvangen. Kostte ons veel tijd. Weinig korting bij musea. Kaart beter zelf in Wenen kopen.

Leider wurde im Touristbüro in Wien Albertinaplatz die Wien Card nicht mehr ausgehändigt. Seit April 2023 wäre das abgeschafft. Wörtlich" Willkommen im 21.Jahrhundert". Es mußte dort die ivie App geladen werden und danach wurde die Wien-Card auf dem Handy aktiviert. Für ältere Menschen, gar ohne Handy , nicht mehr zu empfehlen.

Die Einlösung der Tickets müsste viel besser beschrieben werden. Man bekommt nämlich anstelle des 12 stelligen benötigten Codes nur einen 8 stelligen. Diesen muss man dann über die Aktion Gutschein umwandeln in den Voucher. Das steht aber nirgends. Hab es nur durch Zufall rausgefunden
