What to expect
Two of the Costa Blanca's most photogenic inland spots are the star turns of this tour. You'll visit the fairytale village of Guadalest and the serene Algar waterfalls. Expect amazing scenery and a dramatic drive as you twist and turn along narrow mountain roads. Sofia, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Even though there isn't much left standing of the castle in Guadalest, it's well worth visiting because it has the best views. You'll get fabulous photos of the bell tower that tops the ridge, the smooth, carpet-like reservoir in the valley and the mountains tumbling down to the coast. You can even see the sea.'First up is Guadalest. The jewel in the crown of the Costa Blanca interior clings to a rocky outcrop amid some of the most romantic scenery imaginable. Wander the village's dozen or so streets, which are home to eight museums, and pass through tunnels carved into the rock. As you weave up the cobbled lanes towards the top of the ridge, the views over the valley just get better and better. Then it's on to one of the natural wonders of the Costa Blanca – the Algar waterfalls. With pebble beaches, deep blue pools, mossy channels and thundering cascades, it's like a natural waterpark. Stroll along the trail to the sparkling clear pools of the River Algar and admire some of Mother Nature's finest work. Sofia says, ‘The water here is beautiful, clean and refreshingly cold even in the height of summer, because it flows directly from sources high in the mountains.'

60 euro per persoon terwijl inkom voor de watervallen maar 8 euro bedraagt. We hadden een uur en half toegang wat VEEL te weinig is. Je hebt zelfs niet de tojd om alles te zien. In elk geval voor ons een zware teleurstelling en weggegooid geld. Ik raad dit niemand aan.

Men had beter de volgorde zoals bepaalde in de excursieomschrijving behouden. Nu werd eerst Guadelest bezocht waar heel veel te bezichtigen viel maar waar er amper tijd was om het kasteel te bezoeken. Voor musea was geen tijd, nog voor het mooie dorpje en zijn restaurantjes. Voor 12 uur werd al vertrokken naar de watervallen, wat ons betreft een grote teleurstelling. Net tijd genoeg om iets te gaan eten want om 14 uur terug richting hotels. Dus: betere voorstelling van de excursie op de TUI site

Dat iedereen zoveel mogelijk op zijn zelfde plaats gaat zitten op de de bus dat de reisleider dat even vermeld voor het vertrek En dat er bij de boeking van de excursie word vermeld dat je best watersandalen mee neemt want de ondergrond in de watervallen is keien en dat is hard voor je voeten grts

De uitstap was leuk maar er is ons niet verteld door de host in het hotel dat dat het heel veel trappen zijn voor mensen die moeilijk te been zijn of knieproblemen hebben dat zo mogen vermeld worden vooraf en niet achteraf enkel op de bevestiging

The trip was very rushed, we went on the trip with two young children, we expected to be able to sit down and have lunch but were unable to do so as we were told We had to be back on the coach for 2pm Or we would be left behind! The waterfalls can easily take well over an hour to Actually enjoy and we was given 1hr 30 mins, if This would have been explained to us when booking we would have just booked a taxi to the waterfalls which still would have cost us less than booking the trip!

The Dutch lady leading the group was excellent, I was appalled at some of the older English people on the bus, speaking loudly when the announcements were in Dutch, having to tell the English to be quiet on several occasions. One of those ladies was sat in front of me, and placed her coat on another seat saving it for her sister who was late for the return trip after being given another 15 mins extra time, she accused a lady of touching her coat, the leader adequately dealt with it.

The waterfalls were very hard to get to via a big hill before entering them. My husband has medical needs and it was explained that it wasn't suitable for people with mobility issues but he is able to walk quite a long way. Despite this issue we didn't really have long there and not enough time for a sit down to enjoy them.

On nous a vendu une excursion en anglais, allemand et français. L'excursion a été faite essentiellement en allemand et anglais. Très peu d'explications en français. Si nous avions su cela, nous aurions peut être pas fait l'excursion car nous n'avons rien compris des explications du guide.

Zeer mooie combinatie om de watervallen van Algar en het bergdorp Guadalest in 1 excursie te bezoeken. Er werd ook zeer interessante informatie bij verteld. De beschikbare tijd in Guadalest was echter veel te kort. Dat was echt jammer!

TUI aurait dû informer la clientèle avant de vendre ce lieu de visite. Ce n'est pas fair-play de la part de TUI.

Heel goed hotel, vind het wel jammer dat er geen hostess langskomt. We hebben er op de luchthaven al naar gevraagd en dan is er een Engelse hostess van Tui geweest, zodat we toch een excursie konden boeken. We hadden graag nog enkele vragen gesteld, maar doordat de mail (enkele dagen ervoor) terugkwam als onleverbaar hebben we geen moeite meer gedaan. Andere gasten vonden het ook heel jammer. Zij konden niet goed overweg met een smartphone

The guide was to fast to keep up with older folk and we didn't realise there were so many steps in guadalest but it was worth the visit taking it in our own time. Also bus didn't wait for 3 passengers as he had 3 minutes to wait but just drove off.

Zeer leuke dag gehad . Guadualest was mooi en gezellig. Spijtig dat het maar 1u30was om rond te wandelen. Museum bezoeken of iets eten daar was de tijd te kort voor. Zou aanraden om er een uurtje bij te doen. Watervallen was mooi maar hadden er meer van verwacht. Tijd om daar rond te wandelen was ok maar wij zagen constant op ons uurwerk om op tijd op de bus te zijn.

It's a lovely trip..my husband and I have slight mobility problems and were not going to go to the top of the waterfalls but just go to the bottom and experience it from there ,but in the end we did (very slowly and carefully)and we were glad we did...the village of Guadalest is simply beautiful but we didn't have enough time there . Definitely recommend this trip

Het bezoek aan de algar watervallen waren in de ochtend gepland. Dit was erg fijn, want toen wij weggingen was er een rij van ongeveer een km lang. De watervallen en de omgeving zijn prachtig. Alleen komt er zoveel publiek op af dat je door de mensen de waterval niet meer kan zien. Zelf rijden heel vroeg is misschien beter. Verder hadden we vrij kort de tijd bij de watervallen (al hadden ze dit al iets verlengd) Hierdoor minder tijd bij guadalest, wat ook erg de moeite waard is.

Watervallen van Algar waren erg mooi. Wel af te raden voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn, want de paden rond de watervallen zijn oneffen. Guadalest is een leuk dorp met een mooi uitzicht op het groene stuwmeer. Ook hier geldt dat het minder geschikt is voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn. Aanrader is het museum over poppenhuizen.
