What to expect
The third-largest Greek island in the Aegean Sea, the ever-photogenic Lesbos has lots to see. Experience a trio of top things to do here in just one tour. There'll be a chance to visit Papadellis olive oil producer, a stop at the mountain village of Agiassos and free time to explore in Mytilini town. Daphne, one of our expert local guides, says "olives have been grown on Lesbos since the Bronze Age, so there's thousands of years of expertise and agricultural history for you to learn about during your tour."The day starts in the traditional village of Agiassos, famous for its potteries and woodcarvings, the Virgin Mary church and the ‘cafenions' – Greek coffee houses. Here you'll have free time to explore and sip a coffee. Lesbos is famed for its top-quality oils, so at the Papadelis family's olive oil company you'll get the lowdown on the local tradition of olive cultivation and pressing.The nearby olive groves are located in Loutropoli of Thermi which is one of the most renowned regions of quality olive oil production in the world, though the company we'll visit is not in the same location as the olive groves. To finish the day you'll have some free time in Mytilini town to make the most of your free time for shopping or perhaps to grab some lunch.

+ ontvangst en begeleiding in olijfolie fabriek + voorzichtige en zeer hulpvaardige chauffeur Lefterio - De gids was te "Hollands" en sprak meer over haar vriendinnen en haar leven als inwijkelinge. Ze mist de echte touch en Griekse kennis. Ze leest alles af en weet soms geen namen of details. - Ze lette niet op het feit dat iedereen kon volgen. gelukkig was er Miguel van TUI die wel de achterblijvers in het oog hield

De ervaring van de gids en de passie waarmee ze over het eiland heeft verteld waren echt top. Een aanrader.. Het bergdorp was wat lastiger voor te bezoeken zeker voor mensen die wat minder mobiel zijn. Al bij al toch een leuke ervaring

Onze tour ging eerst naar olijfolie fabriek, vervolgens naar Mytilini en als laatste naar Agiassos. De gids Anja was zeer enthousiast en heeft ons heel veel interessante wetenswaardigheden verteld. Zij was de rode draad in het verhaal en de kers op de taart!

De rondleiding stelde weinig voor. We kregen wat apparatuur te zien die op dat moment niet in werking waren en daar na een filmpje van 7 minuten. Na het filmpje konden we de olie proeven en kopen en dat was het. Leuker was geweest als de machines aan waren en we live het proces zagen. Ook was het fijn geweest als er wat meer over de geschiedenis was verteld en dat we door de olijfgaard konden lopen. De olie was lekker en voor een leuke prijs. Anja de reisleidster vertelde interessante verhalen

Veel en lang in de bus , de spa tour zat er niet bij alleen olijf fabriek waar we een 30 min waren . Toen Door naar Mitiliny wat tegen viel , waren daar rond de middag en hadden 2 u de tijd . Veel restaurants gingen pas om 14 u open . Toch wat gevonden aan de haven . Meer tijd om de ontdekken was er niet omdat we weer naar de bus moesten en korte stop bij de zoutpannen . Doe deze trip niet als je slecht te been bent .

Bezoek aan Agiasos is geweldig. Ook leuk om de hoofdstad Mytilini te ontdekken. Bezoek aan olijfolie fabriek hoort er dan ook gewoon bij als je op een eiland vertoefd waar 1,2 miljoen olijfbomen staan!

Het olijvenbedrijf was interressant, de gids vond ik niet zo goed , Alex was veel beter als gids. De hoofdstad die we bezochten, moest er meer tijd zijn om alles te kunnen zien ( was geen tijd voldoende, want daartussen moesten we ook nog eten, hebben nooit de burcht kunnen bezoeken op die tijd en de winkelstraten. De opstap en afstapplaats van de bus was verschillend waardoor dit toch wel niet evident was , de Grieken kenden deze plaats niet als we het hun vroegen keken ons raar aan.

Sur les lieux et le service, aucun problème. Mais je ne ferai plus ce genre d'activité, il est vrai que l'île est grande et le remplissage du car comme au retour prend beaucoup ********** de temps de trajet. Ont passe des heures pour rien dans le car.

Olijf museum was interessant,alleen jammer dat de machines niet in werking waren. De uitleg was goed,maar was leuker geweest als we het ook in het echt zagen.

Omschrijving excursie is niet juist. Onderdelen waren anders. Chauffeur viel in voor een ander. Wist niet hoe de airco werkte van de bus. Het eerste uur in een bloedhete bus gezeten. Ondanks dat er nu geen olijven waren was een bezoek aan het Olive Museum interessant. Het bergdorp Agiasos was leuk om te zien. Mytilini was druk en geen mooie stad.
