What to expect

This exclusive tour visits two of the Costa Brava's gems in just one day. You'll begin among the sweet scents of more than 4,000 plants at the Marimurtra Botanical Gardens. Mignon, one of our guides, says, ‘I've lived here for 30 years, yet when I first visited the gardens, I felt happiness and had an image of what paradise should look like. The flowers and trees, with the Mediterranean in the background, are beautiful.' You'll also head inland to Girona. If you're a Game of Thrones fan, you'll have a field day discovering film locations around the old town.Your trip kicks off at Marimurtra Botanical Gardens, whose mind-boggling array of plants rivals its picture-perfect setting atop the cliff. What's more, you'll have the added bonus of jumping the queues and visiting early in the morning before the crowds arrive. Enjoy expansive views over the coast while your expert local guide gives you insights into the exotic flora. The cypress-fringed stroll down to a viewpoint overlooking a cove and rocky headland is the stuff of dreams.Next up is the medieval city of Girona, where you'll have a snapshot of its 2,000-year-old history on a guided tour around the walled Old Quarter. Later, enjoy some free time to explore at your own pace – maybe you'll be tempted to see more of El Call, the well-preserved former Jewish quarter. Or stroll over to the pastel-coloured houses perched above the River Onyar or visit the cathedral – which served as the Great Sept of Baelor in Game of Thrones.

Having mobility issues it was difficult to get around the gardens and Girona It would have been helpful if the TUI Rep could have given me more info about the uphill paths and stepped areas

Marimurtra gardens are superb, but Girona although nice was a little disappointing. The walk round with the guide was good but the free time was possibly a bit long. We had plenty of time for lunch but most people on our tour were back at the meeting point very early. I think a longer stop at the gardens would have been better for us and just the guided tour of Girona, possibly extending it a bit would have suited us better.

Overall the trip was very good - the gardens excellent. in Girona the guide told us that as it was a Monday many places were closed as well as many shops being closed as we arrived there at midday. Perhaps Monday is not a good day to run a visit to Girona! The transport and Guide were very good

"Tourists Go Home" spray-painted on Girona's Cathedral doors disappointing to see, not only the sentiment behind it but also the damage done to the Cathedral. Not a good advert for Girona. Obviously not TUI's responsibility but maybe if enough Tour operators complained to the city authorities, something could be done? The city was more than happy to accept our tourist Euros.

Two stops in one day does not allow the time to fully appreciate the gardens or the town. As much time was spent travelling as visiting which was disappointing as we would have loved more time to explore both places

Great

On coach for quite a while going and coming back, just collecting and dropping people off so made trip a long day. Would have preferred more time in Girona and less time at botanical gardens, or just a trip that involved Girona only with a tour guide. Coach was comfortable and good air conditioning. Botanical gardens hilly, could prove difficult for people with mobility issues

Fantastic trip! If I were to mention anything I think another hour in Girona would have been better as you needed to grab some lunch before exploring the city which then didn't leave a lot of time to do so.

Great

Spent just under two hours at the botanical gardens and then 4+ hours at Girona. Would have been nice to have time a bit more equal between them both. Botanical gardens were beautiful, lots of steps if you have a pram with you. Girona had beautiful architecture, though was a bit of a long trip for my four year old.

Gardens- physical map with a little more on the gardens themselves (it would also help if the guide didn't say africa when she ment America. I know English not her first language but it was an English tour) and maybe a little less on the photo oppertunity Very informative on Girona. So much better than the Barcelona trip which I was also on. Would not recommend that tour at all

Great

The trip overall was incredibly good fun. The gardens were beautiful and it was great to explore Girona. However, the coach wasnt in the best condition and the aircon didnt work as well as I would have liked. We were picked up from our holiday in a separate car then left in Lloret De Mar to wait for a bus with no details. It would of been better if the coach picked us up or we were made aware of the change needed

This was a lovely tour that enabled us to explore the botanical garden and the town -Ginora. Lots of free time to explore and take in the sights. Could have benefited from someone taking us through some of the plants in the garden but nevertheless it was an enjoyable trip and I highly recommend.

We've done this trip a few times as we visit Tossa de Mar often. It would be lovely to have more options not to have a tour guide. It really does cut into your time as they insist on you staying put whilst maps etc are got. The trip itself is lovely. The Botanical Gardens & Girona are both beautiful.

Our visit to the Botanic Gardens, which is a very nice venue, was marred by a thunderstorm. perhaps a closer eye could have been kept on the forecast to save time. Otherwise an enjoyable tour.

Great

Pick up 30 mins later would avoid rush hour and traffic backlog in Blaine’s. It should be highlighted on all avenues that this excursion is unsuitable for people with mobility issues or heart/breathing problems. I paid for a ticket and was advised by hotel staff member that this trip was unsuitable for me due to my mobility issues so I missed out on a trip by taking their advice. When my family returned they concurred that this trip was completely unsuitable for me! More free time in Girona plz
