Kia Ora (Hello) and Haere Mai (Welcome) to one of the most important historic sites in Aotearoa! The Waitangi Treaty Grounds was where in 1840 New Zealand's founding document was signed between the English and the local Maori tribes.Today you can discover Waitangi's contemporary museums, Māori cultural performances in an authentic Meeting House, informative guided tours, a native forest, a carving studio, the world's largest ceremonial war canoe, and a quality café, all with stunning views over the Bay of Islands.
