Variety is the name of the game on this vastly contrasted excursion. Get back to nature at the renowned Butterfly Valley nature reserve, before a visit to the completely unspoilt and sleepy island of Chalki.Journey to Rhodes's fertile interior in the morning, headed to the ecological sanctuary that is Butterfly Valley. Walk under the canopy of the forest, alongside waterfalls and ponds rich in wildlife. From mid-June to mid-September this is home to hundreds of thousands of Callimorpha butterflies, attracted by the resin of its storax trees. They make for quite the spectacle.Afterwards, it's back to the coast where you'll board your boat to Chalki. This sleepy island has pretty houses scattered around the harbour where small fishing boats are moored. Take a walk around and enjoy this idyllic getaway and get a feel for traditional Greek island living. There'll also be time for a refreshing afternoon swim in Chalki's clear waters.

Butterfly valley was lovely. Chalki island was lovely but we didn’t look at the voucher after we booked it direct with TUI in the hotel. We had been in trying to find a boat trip with the TUI lady in hotel. We did not expect to be dumped on chalki island for 5 hours in extreme heat we were unable to get to beach so stayed in harbour. Thought we would be on a boat trip with a small swim stop. The Bus journey was really long. A very very long day 13 hours in total. Rep on island was very helpful.

Die Busfahrt zu dem Tal der Schmeterlinge war lang (1,5 Stunden) aber angenehm kühl im komfortablen Bus. Schade nur das die vordere Plätze reserviert waren. Und niemand drauf saß, den ganzen Weg. Gerade für Leute mit langen Beinen wären das die besten Plätze. Auf der Rückfahrt habe ich die Reiseleiterin gefragt ob ich mich darauf setzten kann, sie meinte zuerst dass die Plätze für noch jemanden vom Personal reserviert wären. Ich erklärte dass ich operierten Knie habe. Erst dann durfte ich hin.

Butterfly valley was wonderful but the ferry trip was dreadful! The seating area was vastly overcrowded with at least 25/people having to stand for the entire trip. The inside spaces were dirty and badly maintained with the only refreshments being available via a dispensing machine! Crew were miserable and non communitave.

Visite vallée des papillons un peu courte : une heure ce n’est pas suffisant. Par contre aussi tôt le matin on était presque les premiers c’est parfait. Pour l’île de chalki, le temps passé est trop long….

Sehr gute Organisation und nette und informative Begleitung. Auch die Restaurant-Empfehlungen und Ermäßigungen waren gut. Die Bootsfahrt war grenzwertig. Das Schiff fuhr auf der Hinfahrt sehr schnell und es roch sehr nach Motorenöl, was zur Übelkeit führte. Das passte nicht so ganz zum TUI-Standard. Der Ausflug an sich war aber toll und eine super Kombi.

Butterfly sanctuary was beautiful, and shady so nice and cool. Chalki Island is breathtakingly beautiful and quiet with not too many tourists. The sandy beach on the other side of the island to the harbour is idyllic and the sea so nice to swim in. Prices in the bars and restaurants very reasonable too.

Das Boot war eine reine Katastrophe, überfüllt und beim Einstieg war immer ein riesen Gedränge. Die Fahrt dauert dich eine .knappe Stunde und weswegen war es absolut nicht lustig!

The guide was lovely, but it was NOT. A guided tour. She was on the couch and boat only. But did give us as much info as she could. Butter fly valley was good. Alot of steps and there is a good view from the top. Apparently. Sadly the last bit of path was closed so you couldn't see it. Very disappointing after climbing all the steps .The butterfly s where good and plentiful.

Die Fähre war total überfüllt Vorstellung wenn etwaspassiert hast du keine Schanze zum überleben. Insel in allgemeinen nicht so schlecht leiderfür tui Ausflug keine deutsche reiseleitung. Preise auf der Insel waren super. Aber mit der Fähre müssen sie sich was überlegen kleinere Boote mehr Privatsphäre.

Die Abholung mit einem völlig überfülltem Bus war weniger schön, keine Sitzplätze für drei Personen. Dies hat weder den Fahrer noch den Guide interessiert. Sicherheit war nicht vorhanden, da wir zu dritt auf einem zweier Sitz (zwei Erwachsene und ein elf jähriges Kind) gequetscht saßen. Es war einfach nur Massenabfertigung und auch die Fahrt mit dem überfüllten Boot war anstrengend und zu warm. Butterfly Valley war OK aber anstrengend mit Treppen hoch.

Pas de ochtend zelf werd duidelijk dat we 5u op het eiland zouden vertoeven. Dit zou beter al duidelijker gecommuniceerd worden bij het boeken, want dit is vrij lang. Hoewel het eiland mooi is en het eten lekker, zou een 3 uurtjes ter plekke voldiende zijn, waardoor je op een fijner uur terug bent. Vlindervallei zeer fijn en mooi. De moeite waard.

De tijd bij de vlindervallei is veel te kort, geen tijd om helemaal naar boven te lopen en iets te drinken aangezien het op de terugweg naar beneden zo druk is met mensen die naar boven willen. Gids sprak slecht Engels. Je betaald eigenlijk alleen maar voor de transfer

Noutopaikasta lähti lähes samanaikaisesti useita busseja ja iso määrä matkustajia, mikä aiheutti sekaannusta. Olisi hyvä jos bussin numeron voisi tietää etukäteen, tai bussin ikkunassa olisi numeron lisäksi retken nimi. Bussikuski oli muuten hyvä, mutta paluumatkalla selvästi liian väsynyt ja tämä vaikutti ajamiseen.

Das Schmetterlingstal ist toll. Wir waren Vormittags da und die Schmetterlinge sehr aktiv. Chalki ist ein schöner kleiner Ort (Ein lebendig gewordenes Klischee, wie man sich eine griechische Insel vorstellt!) wo man sehr gut runter kommen kann. Wer gerne badet sollte unbedingt seine Badesachen mitbringen. Super klares Wasser!

We waren vroeg in de Vlindervallei, dus het was niet zo druk. Er vlogen aardig wat vlinders rond of ze zaten op een blad. Je moest veel klimmen. We zijn niet helemaal naar boven gegaan; je moest dezelfde weg terug naar beneden. Door de bebossing liep je in de schaduw. Daarna vaarden we met een snelle boot naar Chalki. Een leuk kleurig eiland. We hebben geluncht. Omdat we er 5 uur verbleven, konden we naar het strand. Dat was een behoorlijke klim. Er waren meer stranden, maar die waren te ver.

Superb day trip encompassing the beautiful butterfly valley and trip to Chalki Island. The trip provided an excellent opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Rhodes and its environs. Food was great at Chalki harbour and had wonderful time at the beach there with swimming in the sea. Really felt we'd had a great day out.

Vlindertuin was mooi maar veel te kort. De bus kwam ins 20 minuten te laat ophalen! Dit gaat af van het bezoek aan de vlindertuin. We kwamen 5 minuten te laat door drukte. Er was niet gebeld( voor hetzelfde geld was er iets ernstigs gebeurd!!!) De " hoofden" zijn kennelijk niet geteld en later hoorden we van de Griekse ehbo post dat deze gids al vaker mensen achterliet. Wij vinden dit ONVERANTWOORDELIJK GEDRAG.Daarom vinden wij het onverteerbaar!!

Resan var för lång. Det står att den är 8 h men i själva verket var den nästan 12 h vilket är för mycket. Tiden i Fjärilsdalen var för kort och tiden på ön för lång. Om ni ärligen talar om hur lång resan i verkligheten är så blir folk mindre besvikna. Ärlighet varar längst. I övrigt hade vi en mycket bra vistelse på Rhodos så den här trippen var enda smolket i glädjebägaren.

De vlindervallei is heel mooi maar je moet er op het juiste moment zijn om de vlinders te zien. Ook zou er op voorhand bij het boeken (voor het afrekenen)al vermeld moeten worden dat het eigenlijk nachtvlinders zijn en dat de entree voor de vlindervallei appart nog bij te betalen is. Chalki is heel mooi.

Onze trip naar de vlindervallei en met de boot naar Chalki was leuk, maar de vlindervallei was te kort en de vrijetijd op het eiland Chalki te lang. Vlindervallei is mooi om te zien, en wij houden van de natuur, de watervallen en het klimmen, maar als je de vlinders wil spotten dat zijn er heel veel, maar ze gaan niet vliegen dus je ziet ze bijna niet. De gids was Engelstallig, maar wij konden het moeilijk verstaan. De reistijd van de bus/boot voor ons te lang, maar toch achteraf de moeite waard

Le prix pour les petits enfants un peu trop chère. Et pour chalki, belle plage, mais pas beaucoup d'activité aux alentours ni de magasin, à part une petite taverne. Sinon au alentours du port beau coin avec pas mal de restaurants.

Er waren (bijna) geen vlinders in de vlindertuin Dit kan TUI van te voren weten. Zelfs in de bus werd er gesproken over 2 prijzen. € 3 als er geen vinders zijn en € 6 als er wel vinders zijn. Wij betaalde dus € 3. Leuke wandeling door de vlindertuin, maar dat kan je ook ergens anders doen. Daarna op de boot, maar wel als laatste, dus betere zitplaatsen allemaal bezet. 4 uur op Chalki. Veels te lang. Valt weinig te zien, behalve als je gaat zwemmen. Maar dat kan je ook bij je hotel/strand.

We booked with the TUI rep at Myrina Beach. We were told we should be back at the hotel by 4-5pm. It was 8pm when we arrived back at the hotel. It was a very long and tiring day. We started at 8am and got back at 8pm. If we had known we would not have booked this trip. As we were travelling back to Uk early the next day.

De vlindervallei was een behoorlijke klim waardoor je meer oplet waar je loopt dan kijkt naar de omgeving. We hebben niet veel vlinders zien vliegen. Chalki was mooi maar veel vrije tijd die je aan het prachtige strandje kunt besteden of het terras aan de haven. Weinig winkeltjes. Neem de tijd om te eten want dat is heerlijk hier. En de mensen zijn vriendelijk!! Terug naar het hotel inclusief boot was 3 uur reizen. De gaten in de weg zorgden voor een onprettige terug reis.

the island itself was pretty the rep was helpful advertised valley as high season, got told once there it’s still slow should have been mentioned that due to the bad weather in may that butterflies would not be active in high season advertised as a boat trip, not a trip to an island on a ferry health hazard toilets at valley which you have to pay to get into yet not maintained (dead bugs, overflowing bins, used tampons - disorderly piled us onto the ferry and tried to separate our party (more)

Es war eine lange Fahrt auf der Insel Rhodos zum Tal der Schmetterlinge und danach zum Hafen wo wir mit dem Boot nach Chalki fuhren. Wir haben durch die lange Fahrt sehr viel von Rhodos gesehen was uns sehr gefallen hat.Das Schmetterlingstal hat uns auch gefallen, wir haben doch einige Schmetterlinge gesehen. So richtig viele hat es erst so im Juli. Auf der Insel Chalki haben wir nach der Ankunft am Hafen richti gut griechisch gegessen und danach die schöne Insel erkundet, ein schöner Ausflug.

Schmetterlingstal: Zeit etwas zu knapp, um sich alles anzuschauen und auf sich wirken zu lassen. Nicht den ganzen Weg geschafft in 1 Stunde. Chalki: 5Stunden Aufenthalt war uns persönlich viel zu lang. Es war schade, daß man im Inneren des Bootes sitzen musste, da zu wenig Sitze an Deck waren. Alles andere war top.

La vallée des papillons, à la "fraîcheur" du matin : bien. Partir d'un autre port que celui de la ville de Rhodes, nous a permis de découvrir un peu plus la côte ouest de l'île. Sur l'île, nous aurions aimé que la guide nous face un peu plus découvrir le village. Mais elle nous a bien indiqué : - un bon restaurant où les serveurs parlaient français et le menu, également dans notre langue. - les deux plages à voir. Nous avons eu du temps pour nous (5 heures sur l'île).

animation bruillante musique bien trop forte , pas besoin de metre a fond ca ne sert a rien!!! pour le reste bien dans l'ensemble dans le circuit , les papillons : une arnaque completement injustifié !!!.

Een fantastische ervaring!!! Zeker het stenen strand op Chalki was enorm de moeite waard, echt magisch! Het dorpje is ook super gezellig! Er waren amper vlinders te zien in de vlinder vallei ondanks dat het wel het seizoen was maar de wandeling was wel zeer mooi! Ik raad het aan iedereen aan!!!

Schmetterlingstal war in Ordnung. Die Schifffahrt war soweit gut. Nur kein Service an Bord. Der Aufenthalt in Chalki war mit 5 Stunden viel zu lang. 3 Stunden würden ausreichen. Die Tour war mit ca 8 Stunden geplant, es wurden 12 Stunden daraus

De excursie duurde 12 uur ipv de aangegeven 8 uur. We hebben de volgende dag hierover een klacht ingediend bij de tui hostes. De compensatie die wij ontvangen omdat de excursie niet volgens planning is verlopen bedraagt 17 euro. Dit staat absoluut in verhouding en is belachelijk.

Der Ausflug war insgesamt sehr schön. Der Aufenthalt auf Chalki war einfach mit 5 Stunden zu lang. Auch kann man die Badesachen zu Hause lassen, da der Strand weit entfernt ist. Negativ fanden wir, das wir ca 1 Stunde damit zu brachten, die Hotels abzuklappern um Gäste einzusammeln. Sehr nervig!!

Zaplacilam za wycieczke na która bezczelnie mnie nie zabrano zbiórka byla o 8.50 kiedy przyszlam do recepcji o 8.41 to widzialam jak autokar odjezdza nawet nikt nie zadzwonil ani o mnie nie spytal 1.5 godziny siedzialam na recepcji piszac na czacie z Tui z nieogarnieta dziewczyna która 5 razy pytala o to samo .

la guide était juste une accompagnatrice. elle parlait très mal le français ne nous a donné aucune explication sur l excursion et le peu qu elle disait elle le lisait. l excursion était parfaite mais le chauffeur nous aurait suffi.

Die Bootfahrt war eine Katastrophe,nicht genügend plätze an Bord und ein totales gedrängel beim reingehen .....die Mitarbeiter haben alles mitgenommen was da stand,nur geschupse und dann mußte ich dir ganze Fahrt stehen was wirklich Mist war...das kleine Örtchen war ganz süß,aber 12 Euro für die Liegen am Strand unverschämt !!

Firstly Pick up information was poor, info said outside Gennadi Grand not at the bus stop but the driver had the bus stop, so nearly missed the trip. Secondly from our hotel the trip was too long, the information stated over 8 hours but it was actually 14 hours and we didn't get back until 8:45pm, this meant we had to cancel a restaurant reservation and only just managed to get to the buffet, which shut at 9:30pm, which cost us 50 euro each! The ferry to the island and back was chaotic.

De vlindertuin was leuk. Maar omdat we vroeg in het seizoen waren waren er nog geen vlinders. Dit was bij ons bekend. De vrije tijd in Chalki vonden wij te lang.

Toller Ausflug, die Insel ist wunderschön. Leider sind die Schmetterlinge erst ab Mitte Juni zu sehen. Schmetterlingstal ohne Schmetterlinge ist dann doch komisch...

The trip to Butterfly Valley was disappointing as it was low season so there were no Butterflies to see. It was quite steep to climb also. Although a lovely place, we felt it was a wasted part of the trip. On Chalki Island there was not a lot to do as a couple. Some families were able to take advantage of the beach. It was remote. Although lovely views and nice bars/restaurants we wouldn’t recommend it. A few other adults only on the trip expressed the same view.

temps trop court à la vallée des papillons n'avons eu qu'une heure, il faudrait au moins 1h30, 2h dans l'idéal peut-être partir plus tôt de l'hôtel pour ne pas piétiner sur le temps à Chalki Chalki magnifique à voir absolument
