Cyprus is home to some hugely important ancient Greek and Roman sites. On this tour, you'll take in Aphrodite's Rock, ancient Paphos and the Tombs of the Kings, visit Kourion – and enjoy free time in Paphos town. Andreas, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘The Tombs of the Kings offer us a valuable insight into ancient Mediterranean culture. There are very similar tombs in Alexandria, demonstrating the strong ties between the two cities in ancient times.'After a coffee pit-stop along the way, you'll stop by Kourion archaeological site to see landmarks such as the theatre – dating from the 2nd century BC – and the Agora. En route to Paphos, there's a photo stop at Petra tou Romiou – or Aphrodite's Rock – where, legend has it, the ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty emerged from the sea foam. Andreas says, ‘At Kourion, you see the ruined house of Eustolios and find out what life was like here before the city was destroyed by an earthquake in the 4th century.'Next, we'll head to ancient Paphos for a guided visit of the Tombs of the Kings, the House of Dionysos and its well-preserved mosaics. Andreas says, ‘The rock-hewn Tombs of the Kings were not actually intended for royalty, but instead the aristocracy and island governors were laid to rest here. The name reflects the sheer grandeur of the necropolis.' Later, you'll enjoy some free time in Paphos town. Maybe you can take a stroll down to the pretty harbour or grab a bite to eat at one of the many terrace cafés.

Maria was Superb very knowledgeable and made the day . The Driver well always looking at his phone calling people taking hands of the wheels to pull his blind up and down leaning over to get water out of the fridge don’t sit in the front seat was scary . Apart from that a great if not long just over 2 hours in Paphos .

Tour was really good, and our guide Maria was very informative, and humorous at times. Only real downside was journey to, and from. As we were based in Pernera, we were one of the first on the bus, and last off on the return journey. We had to endure multiple pick ups/drop offs at all the other resorts along the island, making the journey extremely long.

Andreas kennt jeden antiken Stein persönlich. Es hat sich absolut gelohnt diese Tour mitzumachen. Das war ein sehr interessanter Tag. Ein bisschen Interesse für Archäologie sollte man allerdings mitbringen. Denn der Führer hat schon sehr viel Information für uns Besucher dabei. Jemand, der einfach nur ein bisschen historische Stätten gucken will, für den wird es vielleicht manchmal auch zu viel.

Hotel Atlantica Bay was superb. Great staff, very friendly. Food very nice. Waiters going around making sure everyone has drinks etc. All inclusive very good. Entertainment ok.

This trip was nothing short of awful.... 10 hours it last 7 hours of which we spent on the bus! The tour guide was knowledgable but we were rushed around each location 15mins at 1. She also talked complete nonesense in excess... things about a cat and a bay leaf tree. my husband was ill on way home due to length of bus ride. we would like a full refund

Miejsca wycieczki piekne. Malo czasu na zwiedzanie. W Kurion zobaczylismy jedynie namiastke, majac kilkanascie minut. W miejscu narodzin bogini Afrodyty 20 minut czasu na dojscie, zdjecia i toalete. Miejsce piekne, czlowiek mial ochote pospacerowac, ale nic z tego. Grobowce Królów podobnie przebieglismy jedna sciezka. Na koncu Pafos gdzie bylo okolo 2 godziny w tym mozaiki Dionizosa i utrata godziny. Wycieczka powinna trwac wiecej godzin. Przewodnik nie znal polskiego i byl tlumaczony co trwalo.

Der Ausflug war historisch sehr interessant. Es gab keine Wartezeit, die nette Reiseleitern erzählte interessante Fakten und die geringe Anzahl der Teilnehmer war optimal. Content, historical information and archaeological sites excellent all in one day trip too much very tiring Coach experience awful arrived very late coach itself from 1960? Rickety and dirty seats uncomfortable seat belts missing overhead luggage shelf rattled continuously had headache when got back.

Wir hätten gern mehr Zeit am Fels der Aphrodite verbracht, z.B. für Badestopp. Die Königsgräber und Mosaike in Paphos waren unspektakulär und könnten fakultativ angeboten werden. Dafür mehr Zeit im Ort selbst, evtl. für eine Stadtführung, Bootsfahrt oder den Sonnenuntergang verwenden.

Generell war es ein super interessanter Ausflug. Andreas der Reiseleiter hat sehr viel erzählt, hat ein enormes Wissen - sehr beeindruckend. Die Zeit war allerdings dann in Paphos ein Problem, wir hatten dann nur eine Stunde Zeit etwas zu essen und die Hafen Gegend zu erkunden, das ist schade, dass es dann etwas stressig war am Ende.

...tolle Fahrt über Kourion, einer antiken Ausgrabungsstätte, nach Paphos zu den Königsnekropolen und zu den Mosaiken der einstigen römischen Stadt, guter Service und auch der Reiseleiter hat sehr interessant berichtet.

The trip was described as ‘whole day’, but most of this time was on the coach (estimate 7.5- 8 hours), including a diversion to go through a military base, not on the itinerary. Stops at the historic sites were brief, longest was 30-45 minutes, with little time for free exploration. The guide joined the coach approximately 1.5 hours after us, between numerous pick-ups, and the driver often was reading the notes while driving. On the return, the drive was 3.5 hours, with no break for the driver.

Die Reiseleiterin war Top und gat uns mit viel Informationen versorgt. Auf der Fahrt nach Paphos konnte man einiges vom Land sehen. Das Haus von Dionius und auch die Badehäuser mit der Arena waren sehr interessant. Enttäuschend hingegen waren die"Königsgräber", nur leere Steinhöhrlen. Könige worden da nie begraben. Außerdem wäre erwas mehr Zeit für bei den einzelenen Starionen wünschenswert, teilweise nur 30 Minuten.

Collecting other passengers and guide meant we spent 6 hours travelling, leaving only 30 minutes at each venue! Plus an hour for lunch this was not great value as one could easily spend an hour or more at each one. Maria the guide was excellent full of knowledge and humour, but would have welcomed her at the outset not an hour after driving round other hotels. The driver was also great, This tour needs rethinking as it clouded or decision on booking additional tours

Wenn man sich für Geschichte und Kultur interessiert ist es ein äußerst interessanter Ausflug. Unsere Guide hatte viel Wissenswertes zu erzählen. Aber leider ist es ja wie so oft das dann doch ein bisschen zu wenig Zeit bleibt um sich etwas mehr anschauen zu können. Die wichtigsten und am besten erhalten oder restaurierten Sehenswürdigkeiten waren aber dabei.

Es waren schöne Ziele, aber etwas zu wenig Zeit. Mittagspause hätte entweder einen kleinen gemeinsamen Snack und Getränk enthalten können dafür hätte ich gern mehr bezahlt oder bereits den Eintritt in das „Dionysoshaus“ ermöglicht werden können. Dort war keine Zeit in das Informationszentrum zu gehen.

Tour was great but we didn't really know what was included before we left. We visited more places than expected, but could have done with a little more time at each - probably trying to cram too many sites into the trip with the 3 hour each way travel time from our hotel. Guide, Maria, was excellent and knowledgeable.

Maria the Tui Rep made the trip more enjoyable. She was amazing, funny and very knowledgeable. Would have been nice to spend longer at Aphrodite birth place, maybe for a swim then time to dry off before returning to coach. We had a taxi pick us up to take us to another hotel to meet coach but he said we had to get ourselves back to hotel, we thought this was unacceptable. The couple whom shared the taxi with us spoke to rep and the driver did drop us off on the main road near our hotel.

Trip starting 40 mins late was not a good start, but that aside very knowledgeable tour guide, but everything seemed rushed in the morning Roman site very little time to explore, Aphrodite Rock was rushed Tomb of the Kings was good but again felt not enough time to explore, Paphos was better had more time to explore and visited mosaic museum overhaul not bad but needs better organisation from start.

The tour guide was very good, but we felt rushed at the Kourian experience and it felt like a long time on the coach for very short stops for the sights. Our rep said it was an 8 hour day but it ended up 10 hours. Not sure if this was due to the pick up in Limassol not going as planned. More time at the kourian would have been good.

Vi her idag på vores tur Brugte den første 1 time og 10 min hvor vi kørte fra et hotel til en andet i limasol. Og sad i en stor taxi hvor vi ventede på andre skulle med, mens chefføren skulle lige finde ud af hvad der foregik, for at få mere information, hvor han så sagde vi kunne vente udenfor for bussen. Ender så med vi får afvide vi skal ind igen og vi bliver kørt tilbage til vores hotel og sat af. Meget uklare information, på trods en anden dansker finder vi så ud af hvor vi skal mødes henne

Der Reiseleiter (ich denke er heißt Andreas) ist sehr kompetent und teilweise humorvoll was wir als sehr positiv empfunden haben. Meine Frau und ich sind keine begeisterten Busfahrer, daher war die Busreise nach Paphos für uns schon lange, hat aber nichts mit der Qualität zu tun. Der Reiseleiter hat uns sehr sehr viel erzählt, was wir alles gar nicht aufnehmen konnten!

wir hatten mit Andreas einen kompetenten Reiseleiter. Er hat uns vieles aus der Geschichte von Zypern erzählt. In Paphos hätten wir uns mehr Zeit gewünscht um den Hafen noch anzusehen.

Tourguide Andreas ist geschichtlich und mythologisch sehr bewandert und macht einen ganz tollen Job. Er redet sehr viel und man kann ihn oft schwer verstehen, gerade, wenn eine andere Gruppe in der Nähe ist oder man im Bus weit hinten sitzt. Auf alle Fälle ist die Tour sehr empfehlenswert.

Rund um ein guter Ausflug mit dem sehr guten Reiseführer Andreas, wer Interesse an alten Sehenswürdigkeiten hat, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Der umsichtige Busfahrer hat uns gut an die Ziele gebracht.

Die Tour selbst ist sehr sehenswert. Leider war bei den Gräbern zu wenig Zeit. Insgesamt wurde auf der Fahrt und an allen Orten zu viel über Mythen und Märchen, Herkunft verschiedener Wörter und und und erzählt und die Orte und das Land selbst zu wenig beschrieben. Andreas ist sicherlich sehr wissend, aber durch seine schlechte Satzbildung und auch die Aussprache, sehr schlecht zu verstehen. Mann muss sich ständig anstrengen ihm folgen zu können. Und er verliert sich in seiner Welt der Geschicht

Didn’t like the amount of time spent on coach , The visits to sights were interesting , but very much the same maybe a stop somewhere for lunch would have been nice. But our guide Maria was amazing .

In Paphos hatten wir nicht einmal mehr Zeit zum die alte Festung im Hafen anzusehen. Die Zeitfrist war mit den alten Mosaiken anschauen und dem Mittagessen einnehmen leider schon vorbei. Reiseleiter Andreas und Busfahrer Ivo waren top.
