An ancient seaside settlement on the Black Sea, Sozopol is a fascinating place to explore. First, you'll join a boat cruise into Sozopol Bay. Back on land, tour the cobbled streets of the old quarter, then enjoy a lunch of local favourites in a restaurant. Next, it's time to visit Ravadinovo Castle – Bulgaria's very own fairytale palace. Ivaylo, one of our local guides, says, ‘The castle was built with Strandzha Mountains marble, which contains micro-diamonds. These appear to change colour depending on the time of day, so the castle looks pink in the morning, white in the daytime and at night it seems to glow.'Arriving in Sozopol, we'll hop on board a boat to take a cruise around the island of St Ivan, the biggest in Bulgaria. Disembark for a guided walk around Sozopol's pretty cobbled streets flanked with traditional wooden houses. You'll hear about the town's past as a thriving outpost of ancient Greece, followed by Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman rule. Today, Sozopol serves up old-world charm, two fine beaches and lots of cafés, boutiques and galleries.After your guided tour, tuck into a typical local lunch at a family-owned restaurant, then enjoy some free time to shop or explore. Finally, you'll head inland for a visit to Ravadinovo Castle – an award-winning attraction packed with spires, towers and marble statues. Wandering palatial grounds and colourful gardens, you can head to the petting zoo for little ones or take in the views over the man-made lake.

Przewodnik bardzo ciekawie opowiadala historie i ciekawostki o Bulgarii. Natomiast same atrakcje bardzo slabe. Nassebar zwiedzilysmy we wlasnym zakresie i byl duzo ladniejszy i ciekawszy od Sozopola. Rejs statkiem calkiem przyjemny, ale ten pseudozamek to jakies nieporozumienie.

The trip gave us the chance to see somewhere different. When we were going around the castle our guide didn’t ensure that we all kept together so missed out on possibly information that may be of relevance. Unfortunately we went virtually 4 1/2 hrs before we had chance to sit and have a drink, on what was a very hot day. Too much free time in Sozopol as very little there, other than the beach.

Guide was very knowledgeable, boat trip was very relaxing, Sozopol beautiful and laid back and the restaurant was top notch, providing a hearty and delicious meal with a scenic view. The castle was very cool however the “zoo” was a little depressing and detracted from an otherwise incredible and interesting zany location.

Enjoyed visiting the places very much, what we didn't enjoy was being taken to this places in a coach with insufficient air conditioning which made it a very unpleasant journey, further more the said coach needs a very good clean as the back of the seats we sat in had chewing gum stuck to them making not a very nice view, I'm not one for normally comments like this but on this occasion I felt I had too....??

We enjoyed the day a lot. The English guide was very knowledgeable, but splitting the group in 2 for the Dutch people was annoying. The arranged meal is always very hit and miss for me (I'm quite a fussy eater!), so I would rather be given the choice of 3 options at the booking than have to take my chance on the day

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and made instructions to timing and places clear. The castle was a good part of the tour. Strange but True. The boat trip was a waste it took you nowhere, but it was a windy day so might not have been representative. The lunch was average.

Loved every minute of the whole day. Our tour guide was very interesting to listen to. The food provided at the windmill hasn’t changed and for returning visitors like myself the food has become a little boring but still good to eat

Overpriced for what was on offer. The boat trip was nothing more than a trip round the bay for an hour with no information/commentary provided so we had no idea what we were seeing. It seemed like a way to kill an hour of the trip. The lunch was not good, particularly the main course. Sozopol was interesting enough but (not Tui's fault) it was pouring with rain.

The trip to the castle felt rushed and we wanted more time to explore the castle and sit in the cafe for a drink. The boat trip was nice but would have been better if a guide had been telling us what we were seeing as we were going round rather than before we got on the boat The meal was lovely but again felt very rushed. The guide we had was very knowledgeable on the area and gave us lots of information.

Guide was outstanding however everything was rushed. Too little time at the castle which had beautiful gardens which we did not have the time to fully explore & enjoy. . Cut the boat trip out. Complete waste of time just going going around a bay. Go to the same restaurant but don’t include in the cost. Allow customers to select from the menu as the food serviced was canteen food, when the menu & food served to individual customers looked amazing. Said 8 hours when in fact 9 1/2.

The castle was fun for the children but I, personally thought it was a waste of time. The boat ride was ok but I assumed we would be given some information about what we were seeing. The TUI guide had told us before we arrived at the boat but, seemingly, just as part of the general info. I didn’t realise that was it. The weather was unfortunate and beyond anyone’s control. The walking tour of Sozopol was very good, the guide was excellent.

Wycieczka za 330zl nie jest warta , Pani przewodnik bardzo malo opowiadala , wiecej sie dowiedzialem od przewodniczek z innych biur które mówily o kulturze Bulgarskiej jak zyja ile zarabiaja jak wygladaja u nich pogrzeby,wesela itp a nasza Pani powiedziala kika slów o zarobkach i o drogach powinna opowiadac o Bulgari cala droge a byla cisza , sam Sozospol miasto moze byc Pani przewodniczka zaprowadzila nas do 2 miejsc tam gdzie mozna zaribic ogolnie nie polecam . Im Grunde ist es ein sehr guter Ausflug. Der Guide hat sich sehr große Mühe gegeben. Allerdings ist das ein englischsprachiger Trip gewesen, leider kein deutsch. Somit werden wir sicherlich nicht alles verstanden haben. Bisschen englisch kann man ja. Für unseren Geschmack hätte die Schifffahrt gerne länger sein können. Beim Mittagessen hat alles prima geklappt, da meine Frau und ich Unverträglichkeiten haben.

Prijs en kwaliteit zijn erg goed. De gids deed erg zijn best om in het Engels alles duidelijk over te brengen. En dat werd door ons gewaardeerd. De boottrip werd door de hevige wind aangepast en dat is een stuk veiligheid waar we goed mee kunnen leven. Het kasteel staat werkelijk bol van de kitsch maar dat maakt het erg bijzonder en fotogeniek. Een goede dag met een mooie inkijk. Onze dochter moet glutenvrij eten en daar mag wel rekening mee worden gehouden met de lunch (aangegeven).

Good lecture continued all the way to Sosopal, if that's the correct spelling the pretty town was a let down, not pretty, terrible roads and pavements. Lunch good for me not so for my wife, she won't eat tomatoes or cucumber. Boat trip ok nice day saw dolphin, just, filthy harbour. Castle/ Disney setting brilliant my grand son would have enjoyed it and so did my wife and I. Pity our hotel hasn't a Tui rep and we had to walk mile and half to get the bus and the same to get back to our hotel, cool

Over all the day was very good, the boat ride and dinner over looking the sea was brill the views were great. The tour of the little town was canny. The castle was magical not what we were expecting at all. I feel the hour at the castle wasn't long enough to explore and enjoy the full grounds. I feel we spent to long in the town when the time would be better spent at the castle.

It wasn't massively young kid friendly and we didn't see dolphins. From adult point of view, the tour rep was brilliant. He was friendly, informative, made his stories interesting to listen to. The boat trip was fun! ?? The food wasn't great. Cold soup and mushy rice in the stew, nice salad though ?? The people of sozopol were fantastically friendly and accommodating. ?? The Ravadinovo castle was breathtaking??????

Det var toppen!!! Allt!!! Guiden var underbar!!! Berättade så mycket även "out of the box". Stora saker men även små detaljer. Där var tillräckligt med tid till allt. Behövde inte stressa. Maten var jätte god. Jag kan bara säga att jag fick verkligen valuta för pengarna!!!!

The tour guide (Ilvanyas?) Was amazing! So knowledgable even about the locals!, attentive and friendly. The boat trip was fun and even saw a Dolphin!, Sozopol was gorgeous and full of culture, the 4 course meal was lovely and facing out into the black sea, and the castle was fantastic!. Straight out of a Gothic Fairy tale. Absolutely beautiful design and grounds.

The whole trip including the guide was the best we have experienced with Tui ever! Can only describe this as one not to be missed. It was a great day but I found how the animals are kept at the castle ( the horses were in a yard of mud and the shelter in the donkey area was broken with a large shard on the ground ) quite upsetting.

Fantastic trip! Excellent value for money. Beautiful lunch with lovely views of the sea. Extremely knowledgeable guide. Really nice bus driver with luxury coach. Incredible, modern castle with really cool grounds. Sozopol was a charming little town. Highly recommend this trip!

The guide was so great and gave us alot of extra info off the bus, as the other tui guide for another country, had the microphone 90% of the time on the coach. We had no clue what he was saying, but Martina was excellent. Sozopol was lovely, again Martina was fab and showed us places which were really interesting. Food was fab, and the castle was great to see. A brilliant day apart from the Tui rep for the other country who we had to listen to near enough the whole time on the coach.

Overall enjoyed the experience. It was well organised and the tour guide was very good. The areas we didn't like so much. 1. Thought it was too long a day for what was involved. The spare time was too long. Each time we were allocated specific spare time, we got back to coach much earlier than the allocated time as we had explored everything we wanted to. Most people came back much earlier. 2. Would have preferred to miss the excursion to the Castle and headed back. Wasn't impresssed.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and gave us so much info about Bulgaria and it's history . He explained the itinerary so we knew where we were going and what we could expect to see. Our only disappointment was the castle was not a castle , more like a Disney theme park , but understand that it is a popular attraction so for many worth a visit .

Amazing tour that was good value for money. The tour guide for English speaking was interesting and informative. Had a beautiful 1 hour boat trip around Sozopol, a guided walking tour, a 4 course Bulgarian meal at the Windmill in Sozopol, free time and a trip to Radinovo castle which was amazing.

The boat and town was very good the guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. The castle at the end was in my view pointless. It was just a giant prop. I can see where the family that own it are going with this, with the small waterpark next door it’s obvious the are thinking of a little theme park. But at the moment not worth a visit.

Great to see some of Bulgaria. Less time needed to wander the town and maybe more at the castle 30mins more and less in each. Also, get the toilets on the bus working, it's over an hour back to hotel with the drop offs and kids needed the loo. Had to jump off the buss and use wild facilities in the end. Still, a great trip.

All tui staff we dealt with from booking to coming home were helpful. The hotel was clean and tidy, food was cold

the guide was good full of information the boat trip could have been better i.e. see more rather than just a jolly round the beach

Guide very informative. Trip was slightly too long in total, Sizopol with the boat trip and meal would be sufficient enough

Was een heerlijke dag met het gezin. Meneer licht vertelde fantastisch en zijn Nederlands was erg goed!

mooi trip veel gezien en veel gehoord het eten was ook erg lekker al zul je mensen hebb3n die t niet lussen en dan zeggen was niks ook een prachtige mooi boot tocht waar je lekker op de boot kon zitten of liggen op n zit zak en daarna t kasteel dat was ook zeer mooi de kers op de taart zeg maar

Leuk programma, leuke dingen gezien, alleen was de groep wat te groot, een volledige autocar vol. Dan is het moeilijk dat de gids iedereen goed kan toespreken in zo een groep. Zijn Nederlands, kon ook wel wat beter, deed wel zijn best natuurlijk ;) tip, geef mensen bij het kasteel direct tijd

Een mooie tour goede dingen gezien de lunch was ook perfect boottocht was heerlijk lekkere zitzakken op het dek was echt genieten dan het kasteel waar versie van doornroosje was opgenomen was geweldig en zeker voor de prijs een aanrader Enige opmerking was dat de gids meer duits prate dan nederland

Voor de gids een tien,boottocht een 10,bezoek aan sozopol een 10 bezoek aan pretpark daarintegen een vijf.het park op zich is wel mooi maar heeft niks met cultuur of history te maken.maar alles tesamen hadden we een prachtige dag.

Prima excursie;
Tips; laat mensen niet te lang zonder de mogelijkheid tot eten. We moesten om 7.50 aanwezig zijn en hadden daardoor niet de mogelijkheid om in het hotel te ontbijten. Pas om 13.30 gingen we lunchen. Dit is een veel te lange tijd.

Leuke tour om een indruk te krijgen van Bulgarije. De gids wist veel te vertellen en de boottrip was erg leuk.
